Valeo has inaugurated a new high-definition surround-view camera production line at its Sanand facility in Gujarat, marking a significant step in strengthening its manufacturing footprint in India. The inauguration was led by Marc Vrecko, CEO of Valeo’s Brain Division, on April 3, 2026.
The new production line is dedicated to the large-scale manufacturing of advanced vision camera systems for leading automotive manufacturers in India. These systems play a critical role in enhancing driver assistance, improving road safety, and enabling features required for semi-autonomous and autonomous driving technologies.
This development reflects Valeo’s continued focus on localizing the production of high-value automotive technologies in India. By manufacturing advanced vision systems domestically, the company aims to improve supply chain efficiency and accelerate the delivery of safety-focused solutions tailored to regional market needs.
In addition to camera systems, the Sanand facility is evolving into a multi-technology manufacturing hub. The site is being equipped to support scalable production of advanced automotive displays and telematics control units, aligning with the increasing demand for connected vehicle technologies and digital cockpit solutions.
Marc Vrecko noted that the inauguration represents an important milestone in Valeo’s commitment to the Indian market. He emphasized that localizing production of complex vision systems not only enhances operational efficiency but also strengthens partnerships with automotive manufacturers by enabling faster access to advanced technologies.
Jayakumar G Group President and Managing Director of Valeo India, highlighted that the expansion reinforces the company’s capabilities in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) manufacturing and research and development. He added that the investment supports Valeo’s strategy of expanding its product portfolio in India while addressing evolving customer expectations in the automotive sector.
