Messe Düsseldorf Expands into India’s Foundry Sector with Inter Foundry 2026

Manufacturing-News

Messe Düsseldorf is making its debut in India’s foundry market by partnering with Inter Foundry, a prominent trade fair for the foundry industry in India. The cooperation will integrate Messe Düsseldorf’s world-renowned trade fairs—GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, and NEWCAST—collectively known as The Bright World of Metals—with Inter Foundry 2026. The next edition of the event will take place from September 10-12, 2026, at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore.

This strategic move aligns with Messe Düsseldorf’s goal to expand its global presence and solidify its leadership in the metallurgy and foundry sectors. India, as the world’s third-largest casting producer, is seeing rapid industrial growth, with an annual GDP growth rate of 6-7% (source: WFO Global Foundry Report 2024), making it a prime market for advanced foundry equipment, automation, and sustainable technologies. Coimbatore, known as one of India’s key industrial hubs, houses over 600 foundries and numerous component manufacturers, creating ideal conditions for global companies to enter India’s expanding market, especially in aluminium casting and light metals, which are crucial to industries like automotive and energy.

Inter Foundry, with a focus on South Asia, serves as a comprehensive international platform for the foundry industry. The trade fair brings together all parts of the value chain—from foundries and suppliers to innovators in automation, digitalisation, and material technologies. Complementing Inter Foundry, Inter DieCast focuses on die-casting technologies, together forming a powerful dual-platform representing both foundry and die-casting sectors, including the aluminium industry.

Through this partnership, Messe Düsseldorf will provide its extensive international sales network and expertise in organizing leading global events. This collaboration will significantly enhance the visibility of Inter Foundry, positioning it as a key gateway for international companies seeking to enter India’s foundry market. Messe Düsseldorf has already demonstrated its capability in expanding trade fairs in India, with successful events such as METEC India, wire India, and Tube India.

“India is one of the most vibrant and fast-growing markets for the global foundry industry. With Inter Foundry, we’re offering an outstanding platform for our partners and exhibitors from The Bright World of Metals to explore new business opportunities and build valuable networks,” said Malte Seifert, Director of Metals & Autonomous Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf. “This collaboration marks an important step in our long-term commitment to establishing a solid presence in the Indian foundry market.”

Inter Foundry 2024 attracted 220 exhibitors and nearly 8,000 visitors. The upcoming edition has already received confirmation from over 88% of exhibitors, underlining the fair’s significance. Spanning 13,500 square meters, the event will showcase the latest technologies, materials, and services, acting as both a platform for innovation and a hub for business exchanges.

“India’s rapid economic expansion is creating vast opportunities for the global foundry industry,” said Ashwani Pande, CEO of VA Exhibitions Pvt Ltd. “As industrial demand grows and infrastructure development accelerates, India is becoming a crucial market for innovation, investment, and partnerships. Our cooperation with The Bright World of Metals strengthens Inter Foundry’s position as the leading platform for both Indian and international stakeholders, opening doors for global companies to succeed in this dynamic market.”
