In the vibrant world of international trade fairs, Messe Düsseldorf, recognized among the top-tier global trade fair organizers, has been pioneering transformation and championing progress for over 80 years. To broaden their horizons, Messe Düsseldorf is venturing into new territories by launching three innovative trade shows in Turkey. This expansion is a collaborative effort with Deutsche Messe AG, marking a significant milestone where both organizations will share equal stakes in ‘Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcilik A.S.
With a dynamic portfolio of 20 leading No.1 events and more than 5,000 significant gatherings, the Messe Düsseldorf‘s influence stretches across continents and sectors. Now, embracing the opportunities of an expanding marketplace, the Messe Düsseldorf Group is setting its sights on the flourishing Turkish market. Adding three premier events to its prestigious metal trade fair portfolio—ANKIROS/TURKCAST and ALUEXPO—the group is poised to become a pivotal player in Eurasia’s metallurgy, foundry, and aluminium industries. These acquisitions mark a strategic expansion, underlining Messe Düsseldorf’s commitment to connecting industries, fostering innovation, and facilitating business across borders.
This expansion of the Global Metal Trade Portfolio by Messe Düsseldorf involves a joint venture with Deutsche Messe AG, where both Messe Düsseldorf and Deutsche Messe AG will each hold a 50% share in “Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcilik A.S.,” establishing a strong partnership to leverage their combined industry expertise. In this collaborative venture, Messe Düsseldorf brings its extensive network and industry knowledge gained through organizing world-leading trade fairs such as GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, and NEWCAST, collectively known as “The Bright World of Metals.”
Wolfram N. Diener, CEO & President of Messe Düsseldorf, emphasizes the significance of this cooperation, stating, “This partnership not only extends Messe Düsseldorf’s international network with a new subsidiary but also reinforces our global and strategic leadership in metallurgy and foundry trade fairs.” Messe Düsseldorf already hosts the world’s biggest trade fairs in the industry, and this collaboration further expands its portfolio in the international markets of the foundry and metallurgy industries.
Deutsche Messe AG contributes its longstanding experience in the Turkish market. This joint effort aims to globalize and expand the thematic leadership in the metallurgy and foundry sector, enhancing the international influence of the existing Düsseldorf trade fairs. The partnership specifically adds ANKIROS/TURKCAST and ALUEXPO to Düsseldorf’s portfolio of metal trade fairs. ANKIROS/TURKCAST is a platform for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, foundry, surface treatment, and heat treatment, while ALUEXPO focuses on the aluminium industry. These events are pivotal in addressing the demand in Turkey, a country with a rapidly growing economy and a significant market for metallurgy and foundry products.
Malte Seifert, Director of GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, and NEWCAST at Messe Düsseldorf, expresses enthusiasm about the strategic move. “By expanding The Bright World of Metals to include the Eurasian satellite trade fairs ANKIROS/TURKCAST and ALUEXPO, we are taking an important strategic step to increasingly focus on NF-metals in addition to steel and ferrous metals. With this move, we are strengthening key mechanical engineering segments such as die casting.”
The joint venture between Messe Düsseldorf and Deutsche Messe AG is poised to elevate the importance of ANKIROS/TURKCAST and ALUEXPO as leading platforms for trading ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The collaboration leverages both companies’ strengths, resources, and expertise to create an optimal platform for customers from Turkey and around the world.
The economic growth in Turkey over the past decade has attracted attention, with the country’s large domestic market and strong industrial base making it an essential trading partner. Despite global economic challenges, Turkey’s economy is expected to grow by approximately 3% annually until 2028, according to the International Monetary Fund. This economic landscape and significant infrastructure investment position Turkey as a key market for metallurgy and foundry products.
Ibrahim Anil, Founder and General Manager of “Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcilik A.S.,” highlights the advantages of the partnership, stating, “The continuously growing Turkish economy and the high demand for metallurgy and foundry products in Turkey, the region, and worldwide provide the ideal framework for this.” He further notes that the joint venture will ensure the continued success of ANKIROS/TURKCAST and ALUEXPO, contributing to their growth and institutionalization.
