VinFast has unveiled the new-generation VinFast VF 8, introducing a series of comprehensive upgrades focused on design, driving dynamics, technology integration, and passenger comfort. The D-segment electric SUV represents a major evolution in the company’s global electric mobility strategy and highlights VinFast’s growing in-house engineering capabilities.

The upgraded VF 8 has been developed around VinFast’s “Tech Fluid” design philosophy, which combines modern aesthetics with integrated technology and user-focused functionality. The SUV features a streamlined exterior with aerodynamic enhancements, signature wing-shaped daytime running lights, and a redesigned rear profile aimed at improving both efficiency and visual appeal.

The five-seater SUV measures 4,701 mm in length and comes with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, offering enhanced cabin space and passenger comfort. A ground clearance of 170 mm and 19-inch wheels allow the vehicle to adapt to varied driving conditions while maintaining stability and road presence.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a redesigned dashboard centered around a 12.9-inch infotainment screen that integrates most vehicle controls into a simplified interface. A secondary digital display positioned behind the steering wheel provides real-time driving information, while a steering-column-mounted gear selector improves ease of operation and cabin ergonomics.

The vehicle is equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, air ionization technology, and a Combi 1.0 air filtration system designed to improve in-cabin air quality. The front seats feature a sport-inspired ergonomic design, including a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function. Rear seats offer reclining capability and a 60:40 split-folding arrangement to maximize luggage space.

The new-generation VF 8 is powered by an electric motor producing 170 kW of power and 330 Nm of peak torque. The SUV offers three drive modes — Eco, Normal, and Sport — allowing drivers to tailor performance based on driving conditions and preferences. The vehicle uses a 60.13 kWh battery pack capable of delivering a driving range of up to 500 km on a full charge under NEDC standards. VinFast stated that the battery supports fast charging from 10 per cent to 70 per cent in under 30 minutes.

A key highlight is the company’s proprietary Integrated Thermal Management system, developed and patented by VinFast engineers. The system simultaneously manages cooling and heating functions for the battery, motor, electronics, and cabin climate control to improve efficiency, fast-charging capability, and component durability.

The VF 8 also comes equipped with a comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance System featuring adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, highway assist, and a 360-degree camera system. VinFast said the vehicle has been engineered to meet ASEAN NCAP 5-star safety standards.
