UST, a leading global provider of AI and digital transformation solutions, has secured two major recognitions at the Indian CSR Awards 2025, winning in the categories of ‘Most Impactful Save Water Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Education, Health and Livelihood Initiatives for People with Disabilities (PWDs)’. This marks the fourth consecutive year that UST has been recognized for its sustained and inclusive approach to corporate social responsibility.

Since its founding in 1999, UST has implemented over 127 CSR projects across nine Indian states, positively impacting more than one lakh beneficiaries. The company’s water conservation initiatives have focused on large-scale rejuvenation and community-driven sustainability.

In 2024–25, UST partnered with the Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) to restore Hettanahalli Lake in Karnataka and Karanaithangal Lake in Tamil Nadu, revitalizing 60 acres and conserving nearly 170 billion gallons of water. Under Project Paryavarna, UST also restored eight wildlife water troughs in Coimbatore and carried out multiple watershed management programs across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. These efforts form part of UST’s broader environmental agenda, which also includes tree plantation, forest protection, and coastal conservation initiatives.

UST was also recognized for its extensive education, health, and livelihood programs for persons with disabilities, which promote inclusion through skill-building, access, and empowerment. Key programs include the SkillSync vocational training for children on the autism spectrum, the UST-V Able Scholarship Program supporting 167 students across six states, and infrastructure improvements benefiting around 170 students at special education institutions.

UST has also supplied assistive mobility devices such as wheelchairs, transfer hoists, and visual aids to enhance accessibility for people with disabilities. These initiatives have been implemented in collaboration with nonprofit organizations including Vidhyadhan, the Academy for Severe Handicaps and Autism, RampMyCity Foundation, and Neomotion, strengthening the ecosystem for social inclusion and disability empowerment.

“It is deeply gratifying to see UST’s efforts in water conservation and inclusion being celebrated at the Indian CSR Awards,” said Smita Sharma, Global Program Manager – CSR, UST. “These recognitions belong to our passionate volunteers, partners, and communities who drive real impact on the ground. From rejuvenating lakes to empowering individuals with disabilities, our initiatives reflect UST’s philosophy of ‘Transforming Lives’ through collaboration and compassion.”

Over the years, UST has built a strong track record in sustainability and social impact. The company previously received the UK Business Culture Award (2024) for sustainability, the Mahatma Award for CSR Excellence for three consecutive years, and the Mahatma Young Changemaker Award (2024) for Smita Sharma. UST was also honored with the Best CSR Award 2024, Social Project of the Year 2024 by the Project Management Institute, and multiple accolades for women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability at the Indian Social Impact Awards 2024.

The Indian CSR Awards 2025, organized by Marketing & Brand Honchos, were held in New Delhi, where Smita Sharma received the awards on behalf of UST and participated in a panel discussion on ‘CSR and Community Development’.
