Ester Industries Limited (NSE: ESTER), through its joint venture with Loop Industries, has announced a multi-year offtake agreement with global sportswear giant Nike, Inc. to supply Twist™, a virgin-quality circular polyester resin produced entirely from textile waste. This agreement makes Nike the anchor customer for the upcoming Infinite Loop™ India manufacturing facility, a collaboration between Loop Industries and Ester Industries.
The partnership marks a key milestone in Loop’s commercialization strategy while reinforcing Nike’s commitment to sustainable innovation. Twist™ resin provides a verified textile-to-textile recycling solution, helping Nike reduce its reliance on virgin and recycled flake polyester across its product range.
The Infinite Loop™ India plant is expected to deliver major environmental benefits compared to traditional, fossil fuel–based polyester production. The facility aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 81% and save up to 418,600 tonnes of CO₂ annually—equivalent to removing over one billion miles driven by gasoline-powered vehicles each year. Every product made with Twist™ will feature full traceability using Loop’s proprietary chemical tracer technology, giving Nike verifiable proof of textile-to-textile recycled content and ensuring transparency throughout the value chain.
“Our agreement with Loop Industries represents a crucial step in transforming textile waste into high-performance, sustainable materials,” said Sitora Muzafarova, VP of Materials Supply Chain, Nike. “This collaboration underscores our dedication to scaling sustainable innovations that deliver both environmental progress and exceptional product performance.”
“Having Nike as our anchor customer is a defining moment for Loop Industries and Infinite Loop™ India,” stated Daniel Solomita, Founder and CEO of Loop Industries. “This partnership validates our strategy to deliver verifiable circular polyester solutions and advance the global shift toward sustainable fashion.”
Arvind Singhania, Chairman, Ester Industries Limited, added, “It is an honor to partner with Nike in achieving their sustainability vision. This agreement reinforces the confidence of leading global brands in our ability to supply high-quality, traceable recycled materials at commercial scale.”
Loop Industries is a clean technology company committed to reducing global dependence on fossil fuels by producing sustainable PET plastic and polyester fiber. Its patented depolymerization technology converts low-value PET and polyester waste—including bottles, packaging, carpets, and textiles—into base monomers (DMT and MEG), which are then purified and repolymerized into Loop™ and Twist™ resins. These materials can be infinitely recycled without quality loss, enabling a closed-loop, circular economy for plastics and textiles.
