UST has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with iHUBDivyaSampark IIT Roorkee to advance engineering research and deep-technology innovation in India. The collaboration aims to combine industry expertise with academic research to develop scalable and application-oriented solutions across emerging technology domains.
iHUBDivyaSampark, based at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and supported by the Department of Science and Technology India, focuses on innovation in cyber-physical systems and fostering collaboration among academia, startups, and industry. The partnership with UST is expected to strengthen this ecosystem by bringing in global engineering capabilities and digital expertise.
Under the agreement, both organisations will work together on next-generation technologies, including cyber-physical systems, advanced digital engineering, and artificial intelligence-led applications. The collaboration will also enable the development of tailored solutions designed to address real-world operational challenges across sectors in India. In addition to joint research and development, the partnership will focus on technology transfer and commercialisation, ensuring that innovations move beyond the lab into practical deployment.
Alexander Varghese, President of UST, said the alliance represents a significant step toward advancing engineering innovation in the country. He noted that combining UST’s capabilities in embedded systems, cloud platforms, and AI with iHUB’s research strengths would create a strong platform to address complex challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
Manish Anand, CEO of iHUB-IIT Roorkee, highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in driving meaningful innovation. He stated that the partnership will enable the development of advanced, application-focused technologies while contributing to the growth of India’s broader technology ecosystem.
The MoU was formally exchanged at UST’s Thiruvananthapuram campus in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations, reflecting a shared commitment to innovation and capability development.
