TSUYO Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has received approval from the Government of Karnataka to establish a large-scale electric vehicle powertrain manufacturing and validation facility in the Hubli-Dharwad region. The project, backed by an investment of ₹250 crore, represents a major step in advancing India’s domestic electric mobility ecosystem.
The clearance was granted by the State-Level Single Window Clearance Committee, enabling the company to move forward with the development of a 20-acre integrated campus. The approval follows an earlier Letter of Intent signed during the Bengaluru Tech Summit in 2025.
The proposed facility will focus on the development, manufacturing, and validation of advanced EV powertrain systems. It will house integrated production lines for electric motors, controllers, power electronics, and drivetrain systems designed to serve multiple segments of the mobility market.
The project will be implemented in phases to progressively scale capabilities. The first phase will support powertrain platforms up to 250 kW with voltage architectures of up to 650V. The second phase will extend capacity to 1100 kW systems with high-voltage architectures reaching 850V DC, enabling applications across high-performance and commercial vehicle segments.
The facility is designed as a comprehensive ecosystem combining manufacturing with advanced testing and validation infrastructure. Planned features include dedicated laboratories for power electronics and drivetrain testing, integrated assembly lines, and an open test track for real-world validation of commercial vehicle systems.
The development is expected to generate over 500 engineering and technical jobs over the next three years, contributing to local skill development and strengthening India’s EV component supply chain. The facility will support a wide range of applications, including three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and industrial mobility solutions.
The project has received support from key state agencies, including Invest Karnataka, Karnataka Udyog Mitra, the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, and the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board. The initiative aligns with broader policy efforts to promote domestic manufacturing, accelerate EV adoption, and build advanced engineering capabilities within the country.
TSUYO Manufacturing continues to focus on delivering integrated powertrain solutions through a combination of in-house research and strategic collaborations. With existing operations in Greater Noida and partnerships with multiple OEMs, the company has established a strong presence in India’s electric mobility sector.
The new Hubli-Dharwad facility is expected to enhance the company’s ability to deliver high-performance, reliable powertrain systems for both domestic and international markets, supporting the next phase of growth in electric mobility.
