Global investment firm Carlyle has entered into an agreement to sell Flender, a leading provider of mechanical and electrical drive technology solutions, to Triton Fund 6, advised by Triton Partners. The transaction is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Flender is widely recognized for its expertise in gearboxes, couplings, generators, and drivetrain systems serving industrial and renewable energy applications worldwide. Headquartered in Bocholt, Germany, the company has more than 125 years of engineering experience and operates through a network spanning 34 countries. With over 8,000 employees globally, Flender serves customers across sectors ranging from manufacturing and mining to wind energy and infrastructure.
Since becoming an independent company following its separation from Siemens in 2021, Flender has undergone a significant transformation. During Carlyle’s ownership, the company strengthened its market position, expanded its international footprint, invested in innovation, and enhanced its manufacturing and service capabilities. The business also accelerated growth in key markets including Asia while reinforcing its leadership in wind turbine drivetrain technology and industrial power transmission solutions.
Flender’s management team views the transaction as an opportunity to build on the progress achieved over the last several years. Andreas Evertz, Chief Executive Officer of Flender, acknowledged the role Carlyle played in supporting the company’s evolution into a standalone enterprise and expressed confidence in the opportunities ahead under Triton’s ownership.
He noted that Triton’s industrial expertise, extensive sector knowledge, and long-term commitment to operational excellence make it a strong strategic partner for Flender’s next phase of development. The company expects the new partnership to support continued investment in technology, customer service, manufacturing capabilities, and global expansion initiatives.
Triton Partners brings substantial experience in industrial technology and engineering-focused businesses. Through its value creation approach and operational support resources, the investment firm has established a strong track record in helping companies accelerate growth and strengthen market leadership. Its experience across energy infrastructure, industrial services, and power transmission sectors aligns closely with Flender’s core business activities.
The acquisition reflects continued investor confidence in industries supporting global energy transition and industrial modernization. Demand for efficient drivetrain systems, renewable energy technologies, and industrial automation solutions continues to grow worldwide, creating significant opportunities for companies with strong engineering capabilities and established customer relationships. With a new ownership structure in place, Flender intends to continue expanding its presence across industrial and renewable energy markets while advancing innovation and delivering reliable drive technology solutions to customers around the world.
