Toray Industries (HK) Ltd has entered into a joint venture with MAS Holdings, South Asia’s largest apparel manufacturer, to create a robust and future-ready manufacturing ecosystem in India. The collaboration, named Toray MAS Apparel India, will focus on enhancing supply chain efficiency and meeting the rising demand for innovative textile solutions in the country’s rapidly expanding apparel market.
The new manufacturing facility will be established at the upcoming MAS Apparel Park in Bhuinpur, Odisha, with operations slated to begin in early 2026. The partnership brings together MAS Holdings’ three decades of apparel manufacturing expertise with Toray Industries’ advanced material technologies to deliver cutting-edge products for global brands. This move is also expected to create significant employment opportunities and drive economic development in the region.
Sustainability will be a core focus of the project. The facility will integrate renewable energy solutions such as rooftop solar power, energy-efficient systems, and advanced water and wastewater management processes. Environmentally responsible waste and chemical management practices will be implemented alongside universal accessibility standards, ensuring that the operations reflect both environmental and social responsibility.
Teruo Funahashi, Managing Director of Toray Hong Kong, said that Toray MAS Apparel India will boost local employment and economic growth by producing advanced, high-quality products. He added that the new facility will become a key garment manufacturing hub for both Toray and MAS Holdings in India, strengthening their partnership and enabling strategies that leverage their combined expertise.
