Technip Energies India Commissions Captive Jetty at Dahej

Technip Energies India has announced the commissioning of its first captive jetty at its Modular Manufacturing Yard (MMY) in Dahej, Gujarat. The milestone was marked by the successful dispatch of the company’s first large-scale process module consignment to the Netherlands for a global energy client, reinforcing India’s growing stature as a manufacturing and export hub under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The newly commissioned jetty enables the direct transportation of oversized modules weighing up to 4,000 metric tonnes. Earlier, such cargo faced logistical constraints due to road transport limitations. With this dedicated marine infrastructure, modules can now be moved efficiently from the manufacturing site to international destinations. The first shipment is currently en route to North Europe, passing through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.

The development brings significant improvements in logistics efficiency. Transit time has been reduced from an estimated 15 days via road to just 48 to 72 hours through direct loading at the jetty. In addition, the shift from road to marine transport is expected to deliver fuel savings of approximately 60 to 70 percent, leading to lower logistics costs and a substantial reduction in carbon emissions. This aligns with the company’s broader focus on sustainable and efficient operations.

The jetty was completed within an accelerated timeline of around seven months, reflecting strong project execution and engineering capabilities. The facility enhances Technip Energies India’s ability to handle complex, large-scale modular projects and strengthens its role within the company’s global execution network.

Commenting on the development, Davendra Kumar, Managing Director, Technip Energies India and APAC, stated that the commissioning of the jetty and the successful dispatch of the first module represent a significant step forward for the company’s operations in India. He noted that the infrastructure will enable faster, more efficient, and sustainable project delivery while maintaining high safety standards. He also emphasized India’s emerging role as a key hub in the company’s global project delivery framework.

The integration of this advanced logistics infrastructure is expected to further improve cost efficiencies and reduce environmental impact across projects. It also enhances the company’s capability to participate in and execute large-scale international assignments requiring modular construction and transportation.
