Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global provider of IT services, consulting and business solutions, has opened its seventh Gemini Experience Center (GEC) at the company’s Innovation Hub in Troy, Michigan. Developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, the new center is designed to accelerate the adoption of advanced artificial intelligence technologies within the manufacturing sector.
The facility focuses on the development and demonstration of Physical AI solutions—technologies that combine robotics, sensors, edge computing and cloud intelligence to enhance safety, quality and operational performance across industrial environments. The Troy center represents a key milestone in the global expansion of the Gemini Experience Center network. TCS and Google Cloud plan to operate a total of 13 centers worldwide by the end of 2026, with six additional locations scheduled to open during the year.
These centers are designed to help organizations move beyond isolated AI experiments and develop scalable transformation programs that can be deployed across enterprise operations. The new Physical AI center provides manufacturers with a space to explore real-world applications of AI-enabled automation and intelligent systems. The facility features the TCS Physical AI Blueprint, a framework that integrates quadruped and humanoid robotics with advanced sensing technologies, edge intelligence and secure cloud orchestration.
Through this platform, manufacturers can test and deploy a range of practical applications including autonomous facility monitoring, safety surveillance, environmental anomaly detection, personal protective equipment compliance monitoring and automated quality inspection. The center also supports predictive maintenance capabilities that analyze equipment health and operational conditions in real time.
Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, said Physical AI represents the next phase of intelligent industrial operations. By bringing intelligence directly into physical environments, manufacturers can gain visibility and decision-making capabilities in areas that are difficult or unsafe for human workers to access. Mr Singhal noted that the technology is designed to work alongside human teams, supporting safer and more resilient industrial operations while improving productivity and operational awareness.
Saurabh Tiwary, Vice President and General Manager for Cloud AI at Google Cloud, said the partnership with TCS aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced AI technologies where they deliver the greatest operational value. The new center will provide manufacturers with tools to build more autonomous and data-driven operations using Google Cloud technologies.
The Troy facility joins six existing Gemini Experience Centers located in Bengaluru, New York, Chennai, Riyadh, Singapore and São Paulo. These facilities form part of the TCS Pace innovation ecosystem, which connects enterprises with startups, academic institutions and technology partners. TCS also recently expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud to increase customer access to Gemini Enterprise capabilities and support the development of custom AI agents that integrate with enterprise platforms.
