Tata Group and Intel Corporation have entered into a long-term strategic partnership aimed at boosting India’s semiconductor, electronics, and computing capabilities. The collaboration is intended to accelerate the development of a resilient, India-based supply chain for advanced electronics and chip manufacturing.

Under the signed Memorandum of Understanding, both companies will assess opportunities for semiconductor fabrication, packaging and testing of Intel products within Tata Electronics’ upcoming facilities. The alliance also includes plans to jointly develop advanced packaging technologies in India.

Beyond manufacturing, the partnership will evaluate opportunities to expand the availability of AI-powered PCs and computing solutions for consumers and businesses, as India moves toward becoming one of the world’s largest PC markets by the end of the decade. The initiative is expected to capitalize on Intel’s technology platforms and reference designs, paired with Tata Electronics’ manufacturing expertise and the broader market reach of the Tata Group.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said the partnership reflects Tata’s strong commitment to building a world-class semiconductor industry in India. He emphasized that working alongside Intel will help accelerate progress and strengthen the innovation ecosystem needed to support future AI-driven technologies.

Intel Corporation CEO Lip-Bu Tan stated that India represents one of the fastest-growing markets for computing and AI applications. He noted that this collaboration provides an opportunity to scale rapidly while bringing cutting-edge technology closer to local customers and industries.

Dr Randhir Thakur, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Electronics, highlighted that the partnership supports Tata Electronics’ broader roadmap across semiconductor fabrication, advanced packaging and electronics manufacturing. He added that the combined strengths of both organizations will help reduce time-to-market, enhance competitiveness, and position Intel products to meet rising demand for next-generation AI computing in India.
