Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd has announced a joint venture with South Korea’s Jahwa Electronics to manufacture and supply advanced low-voltage and high-voltage PTC heaters in India, targeting the rapidly expanding electric and hybrid vehicle market. The partnership combines Jahwa Electronics’ expertise in precision engineering and thermal management technologies with Tata AutoComp’s established manufacturing ecosystem, deep customer relationships, and strong presence in India’s automotive supply chain. The collaboration is aimed at accelerating localization of critical thermal components for electric mobility applications and strengthening India’s position as a strategic production hub for EV components.

Under the joint venture, both companies will focus on addressing increasing demand from domestic and global original equipment manufacturers investing in electric and hybrid vehicle platforms. The localized production of PTC heaters is expected to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance product availability for OEMs operating in India.

Jahwa Electronics stated that the Indian EV market represents a significant growth opportunity driven by rapid electrification across passenger and commercial vehicle segments. The company highlighted that combining its technological capabilities with Tata AutoComp’s market reach will enable the delivery of efficient and application-specific thermal solutions tailored to local requirements.

Chanyong Kim, Chief Executive Officer of Jahwa Electronics, said the collaboration marks an important step in the company’s global expansion strategy within the mobility sector. “The Indian electric vehicle market is growing at a strong pace, and this partnership allows us to contribute meaningfully by combining our precision thermal technologies with Tata AutoComp’s established industrial network. Together, we aim to deliver high-efficiency solutions optimized for evolving mobility needs,” he said.

Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems, said the joint venture reinforces the company’s strategy of introducing advanced global technologies to India’s automotive ecosystem. “Our collaboration with Jahwa Electronics strengthens our ability to bring innovative and sustainable automotive technologies to India. This partnership will play a key role in supporting the transition toward electrified mobility solutions,” he said.

Manoj Kolhatkar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata AutoComp Systems, added that the partnership reflects the company’s focus on technology-driven value creation. “Jahwa Electronics brings strong technological capabilities that complement our manufacturing strengths. This joint venture represents a shared commitment to innovation and delivering high-performance solutions for the evolving EV landscape,” he said.
