Tata AutoComp Systems has officially closed the acquisition of European auto component maker IAC Sweden and has rolled out a new identity for the business — Artifex Systems AB. The move boosts Tata AutoComp’s footprint across Europe and widens its collaboration with leading vehicle manufacturers in both passenger and commercial segments. According to the company, the deal marks another milestone in its strategy to expand globally and reinforces its standing as one of India’s most broad-based automotive component suppliers.

“This step supports our long-term roadmap of scaling our global presence and strengthening ties with European OEMs. We are working to build the Artifex brand by unifying Artifex Systems AB, Artifex Slovakia and Artifex Interior Systems under one consolidated identity,” stated Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman, Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd.

IAC Sweden — now renamed Artifex Systems AB — is a prominent European auto component maker with roughly USD 800 million in annual revenue and specialises in premium interior and exterior systems. The integration brings together the product and process strengths of both organisations, merging advanced design, engineering and system expertise with high-precision manufacturing, painting and assembly capabilities in the luxury automotive segment.

“This is the start of a new growth phase that opens opportunities to enhance our expertise and extend our market presence, while contributing to Tata AutoComp’s global ambitions,” said Anders Ericson, Vice President, Operations, Artifex Systems AB.

“IAC Sweden, now Artifex Systems AB, adds world-class production capabilities and a talented workforce with deep knowledge of automotive interior and exterior systems. Their strong focus on quality aligns perfectly with Tata AutoComp’s commitment to delivering value to global OEMs,” said Manoj Kolhatkar, MD & CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd.

IAC Sweden, now rebranded as Artifex Systems AB, is a European automotive component producer recognised for its high-end interior and exterior systems for premium vehicle manufacturers. With annual revenues of around USD 800 million, the company has built a strong reputation for advanced manufacturing, precision painting, system-level integration, and assembly capabilities tailored to luxury and performance automobiles.

Its workforce brings deep expertise and a longstanding culture of engineering excellence, backed by cutting-edge facilities across Europe. The organisation has historically played an important role in supporting leading global OEMs and continues to be valued for its focus on quality, craftsmanship and delivery reliability.

Tata AutoComp designs, develops, manufactures, and supplies a broad spectrum of components and systems to automotive OEMs across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two- and three-wheelers, tractors, off-road vehicles, and industrial applications. Building on this foundation, the company is now extending its reach into the railway segment and already supplies components for Vande Bharat trains.

Operating through 21 business units — including 11 joint ventures with leading global firms — and 66 manufacturing facilities across India, North America, Latin America, Europe, and China, Tata AutoComp continues to drive innovation and localization. Its strong focus on employee skill development, total quality management, and sustainable manufacturing practices reinforces its contribution to India’s growing mobility ecosystem.
