Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), the aerospace and defence arm of the Tata Group, has chosen Ramco Systems to implement its advanced aviation software platform at TASL’s upcoming defence Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. The new facility will focus on maintenance operations for Lockheed Martin’s C-130J Super Hercules aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force.

The project represents a major step in TASL’s effort to develop a modern and digitally enabled MRO ecosystem in India. Ramco Systems will deploy its integrated Aviation MRO platform across the facility to manage core operational processes and improve efficiency across maintenance activities.

The implementation will cover a wide range of operational capabilities including contract and quote management, maintenance planning, hangar maintenance, component repair, supply chain management, engineering and quality management, and customer billing. These modules will create a unified digital system designed to streamline maintenance operations and improve operational visibility.

Ramco’s solution also includes mobile applications that allow technicians and engineers to access real-time information directly on the shop floor. Additional features such as digital task cards, electronic publications, and resource planning tools will enable teams to access maintenance documentation and operational data instantly, helping reduce manual paperwork and improve workflow efficiency.

The platform will support TASL’s vision of establishing a fully digital shop floor where maintenance tasks, work orders, and documentation are processed electronically. The system will also integrate with TASL’s existing enterprise resource planning infrastructure, allowing seamless data exchange across operational and business functions.

With this digital foundation in place, TASL expects improved planning accuracy, better resource utilisation, and greater transparency across maintenance operations. The system is also designed to enhance turnaround times and support long-term operational scalability as the facility expands.

Sandesh Bilagi, President and Chief Operating Officer of Ramco Systems, said the company is honoured to support TASL as its technology partner for the new defence MRO facility. He noted that the platform is designed to meet regulatory requirements while enabling efficient operations, reducing downtime, and ensuring reliable system performance. Mr Bilagi added that the partnership supports the broader “Make in India, Made for the World” vision by strengthening India’s capability to support advanced military aviation platforms within the country.

Ramco Aviation Software currently supports more than 24,000 users worldwide and manages operations for over 4,000 aircraft across more than 90 aviation organisations. The platform is used by airlines, third-party MRO providers, defence organisations, helicopter operators, and emerging urban air mobility companies. Through cloud-based access and mobile applications, Ramco’s aviation platform enables organisations to operate more efficiently while supporting digital transformation in aviation maintenance and operations.
