Suzlon Group has secured a 201.6 MW wind power project from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of the Waaree Group. The project marks Waaree Group’s entry into the wind energy sector and will be executed under Suzlon’s Development Company (DevCo) model, highlighting the growing demand for integrated renewable energy solutions in India.

The project will be developed in Andhra Pradesh, where Suzlon will install 64 units of its flagship S144 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. As part of the contract, Suzlon will provide end-to-end engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, including land acquisition, turbine supply, balance of plant works, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance. The order reflects the increasing preference among renewable energy developers for integrated execution models that simplify project development, reduce implementation risks, and enable faster commissioning of large-scale renewable energy projects.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said the partnership brings together two companies that have played significant roles in India’s renewable energy journey. He noted that while Suzlon has established itself as a leader in wind energy, Waaree has built a strong position in solar manufacturing and renewable solutions. As both companies expand into integrated clean energy businesses, the collaboration demonstrates the industry’s shift towards comprehensive energy solutions rather than standalone technologies. He added that the DevCo model is gaining strong acceptance as developers increasingly seek partners capable of managing the complete project lifecycle.

Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, said the company is pleased to support Waaree Group in its first wind power project. He stated that the order is Suzlon’s second major DevCo-led EPC project secured within a week, reinforcing the growing confidence of customers in the company’s integrated project execution capabilities. According to him, Suzlon’s ability to manage project development, engineering, construction, and long-term asset management has become a key competitive advantage in the evolving renewable energy market.

Pawan Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer of Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited, said the project represents an important milestone in the company’s strategy to build a diversified renewable energy portfolio. He noted that expanding beyond solar power into wind energy aligns with Waaree’s long-term vision of supporting India’s clean energy transition. He expressed confidence that the partnership with Suzlon would contribute to strengthening the country’s renewable energy ecosystem.

The Andhra Pradesh project will play an important role in increasing clean energy generation capacity while supporting India’s efforts to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources. The collaboration also reflects the growing integration of wind and solar technologies to deliver reliable and sustainable power solutions. Founded in 1990, Waaree Energies has built a strong presence in solar manufacturing, EPC services, battery energy storage systems, green hydrogen, and renewable energy infrastructure, with operations across India and international markets.

Suzlon Group is one of India’s leading renewable energy companies with more than 21.7 GW of installed wind energy capacity across 17 countries. Over the past three decades, the company has developed a comprehensive portfolio covering wind, solar, storage, renewable project development, EPC services, and long-term asset management. The latest order further strengthens Suzlon’s position as a leading provider of integrated renewable energy solutions supporting India’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
