Agnikul Cosmos, the Indian spacetech startup known for developing the world’s first single-piece 3D-printed rocket engines and fully integrated launch solutions, has raised approximately ₹150 crore (US$17 million) in a new funding round that places the company’s valuation at over half a billion dollars. The round drew interest from prominent family offices and institutional backers, including Advenza Global Limited, Atharva Green Ecotech LLP, HDFC Bank, Artha Select Fund, Prathithi Ventures, and 100X.VC.

The newly raised capital will be used to expand manufacturing capabilities for aerospace components, accelerate work on the company’s stage-recovery initiatives, and support the development of Agnikul’s upcoming integrated space campus. The 350-acre site allocated by the Tamil Nadu Government will house facilities for end-to-end manufacturing and testing of launch vehicle systems.

Srinath Ravichandran, Co-founder and CEO of Agnikul Cosmos, noted that the company’s earlier successful controlled ascent mission—completed in partnership with ISRO and IN-SPACe—has paved the way for scaling their approach to include lower-stage recovery and extended upper-stage capabilities. “This investment enables us to pursue these upgrades while increasing launch frequency and delivering solutions from India for customers across the world,” he said.

A portion of the funding will also support enhancements to Agnikul’s reusable launch architecture, building on a recently granted patent aimed at increasing the usable lifespan of upper-stage systems. This step strengthens the company’s pursuit of becoming the first provider of a recoverable small-satellite launch vehicle.

Co-founder and COO Moin SPM added that growing customer demand—now exceeding a dozen committed clients—necessitates rapid scaling. The planned facility near India’s new launchpad will allow the company to support missions with the agility and reliability expected by global operators.

Arun Kumar, Managing Partner at Celesta Capital, emphasized the significance of the company’s progress: “Agnikul stands out as an example of India’s most forward-thinking deep-tech innovation. Their position aligns perfectly with the growing worldwide demand for low-Earth-orbit satellite launches.”

With clients across India, the Middle East, and Australia, Agnikul is well-positioned to address rising international launch requirements while reinforcing India’s expanding footprint in the global spacetech landscape.

Anirudh A. Damani, Managing Partner at Artha Select Fund, stated that the company’s trajectory highlights the arrival of India’s private space industry on the world stage. “Their commitment to building technology that hasn’t been created elsewhere gives them a distinctive global advantage,” he said, noting that the firm’s largest contribution to date came through this funding round.

The company’s momentum mirrors a broader surge in India’s private space ecosystem, supported by government initiatives, investor confidence, and advances in additive manufacturing and reusable-stage technologies. Agnikul is rapidly assembling a competitive, full-stack launch infrastructure with global ambitions. The company also recently unveiled a new Large-Format Metal Additive Manufacturing Unit, which will enable 3D printing of multiple rocket subsystems beyond engines.
