Solarium Green Energy Limited, a rooftop solar EPC company, has announced the commissioning of its solar module manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. With an installed capacity of approximately 1 GW (1000 MW), the new plant marks a key milestone in the company’s expansion and backward integration strategy.
The facility has been developed with an investment of around ₹90 crore, excluding working capital, and has been completed in under nine months. Equipped with advanced automation and next-generation manufacturing systems, the plant is designed to produce high-efficiency solar modules at scale.
The manufacturing unit is capable of producing large-format G12 solar modules with power outputs of up to approximately 725 Wp. It utilizes advanced technologies such as TOPCon cells, half-cut cell configurations and bifacial module designs to deliver enhanced efficiency and performance. The facility is supported by precision equipment, including tabber-stringers, laminators and sun simulators, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.
Solar modules account for a significant portion of overall EPC project costs, typically ranging between 50 and 60 percent. By establishing its own manufacturing capability, Solarium aims to strengthen its supply chain, reduce reliance on external suppliers and improve project execution timelines. The move is also expected to support margin optimization through captive consumption of modules in its EPC operations.
In addition to meeting internal demand, the facility will cater to external customers, including EPC companies and other players in the business-to-business segment. At an estimated utilization level of 85 percent, the plant has the potential to generate annual revenues exceeding ₹1,000 crore, depending on market conditions and module pricing.
The commissioning of the facility positions Solarium as an integrated solar solutions provider, combining manufacturing and EPC capabilities within a single ecosystem. This integrated approach is expected to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the company’s competitive positioning in India’s growing renewable energy market.
Company leadership highlighted the project as a significant step in its growth journey, reflecting strong execution capabilities and a focus on long-term value creation. The new facility is expected to play a central role in supporting the company’s expansion plans while contributing to the broader adoption of solar energy solutions.
As demand for renewable energy continues to rise, Solarium’s investment in manufacturing infrastructure underscores its commitment to scaling operations, improving supply chain resilience and delivering high-quality solar solutions across the market.
