SMK Helmets has launched its Ares range in India, introducing three versions: Ares Solid, Ares Claw and Ares Infinity. The helmet, which had generated more than 30 enquiries a day ahead of its launch, is available in 18 colour options across the three versions.

Ares Solid is offered in six single-colour finishes: white, gloss black, matte black, Nardo grey, titanium and desert storm tan. Ares Claw and Ares Infinity each feature six graphic options, with a mix of gloss and matte finishes. The Claw design uses angular graphics, while Infinity features sweeping diagonal patterns.

Designed for road and off-road use, the Ares has a detachable sun peak, a scratch-resistant main visor with a one-touch quick-release mechanism and an integrated sun visor. The main visor offers a wide field of vision. The combination is intended to allow riders to use the helmet for daily commuting as well as longer rides and trail routes.

The helmet has an Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) outer shell and a multi-density EPS liner. It is certified to ECE 22.06, DOT and ISI standards. SMK has used two separate shell sizes to provide a proportionate fit across the size range, rather than relying on a single shell with different levels of internal padding.

Indian-market units come with a Pinlock 70 anti-fog lens fitted as standard. In export markets, the lens is sold separately. The helmet also has emergency quick-release cheek pads designed to help first responders remove it more easily in the event of an accident.

The internal liner is removable and washable, with moisture-wicking and antistatic properties. The cheek pads are shaped for extended use, while grooves accommodate riders who wear spectacles. Other features include an internal switch for operating the chin vent, speaker pockets, a removable wind protector, breath deflector and nose deflector. The chin strap is available with either a double D-ring or a stainless steel quick-release buckle. The Ares weighs 1,575 grams in sizes XS to M and 1,625 grams in sizes L to XXL, with a tolerance of 50 grams. It is available in sizes XS to XXL through SMK’s authorised dealer network. Online availability will be announced separately.

Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana, Managing Director and CEO of SMK, said the company had received regular enquiries about the helmet since its earlier display. He said the three versions give customers a choice of finishes and graphics at launch. The Ares Solid carries an MRP of ₹6,950, while the Ares Claw and Ares Infinity are priced at ₹7,250 each, inclusive of taxes.
