Shree Cement, one of India’s foremost cement manufacturers, has achieved a significant sustainability milestone by successfully completing an independent limited assurance of its Water Accounting data and Water Positivity Index. The verification was carried out by Intertek India Pvt. Ltd., following the ISAE 3000 (Revised) standard, highlighting the company’s commitment to responsible water management.
The assurance process covered Shree Cement’s entire operational footprint, including 16 manufacturing units and rainwater harvesting locations across 11 states. It encompassed all facilities under the company’s control that extract freshwater or implement rainwater harvesting, as well as external conservation projects executed by Shree Cement in local communities.
As a result of these initiatives, Shree Cement has replenished and conserved over 19.58 million cubic meters of water, achieving more than 8 times Water Positive status in FY 2024-25—a notable achievement within India’s cement sector.
