Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has announced an investment of ₹17 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand into renewable energy manufacturing. The investment, completed on April 17, 2026, will support the development of a new greenfield facility focused on high-efficiency solar components.
The upcoming manufacturing plant, to be established in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, will produce Solar DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) cells and Solar PV modules with a planned production capacity of 2.20 GW. The project is aligned with India’s broader push to strengthen domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and reduce dependence on imports in the renewable energy sector.
This strategic investment reflects Shakti Pumps’ commitment to diversifying its portfolio and strengthening its presence in clean energy solutions. The company, known for its leadership in energy-efficient pumping systems, is leveraging its engineering expertise to expand into solar manufacturing and support the transition toward sustainable energy infrastructure.
The facility will be designed to incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and scalability. By focusing on high-efficiency solar cells and modules, the plant is expected to cater to both domestic demand and emerging opportunities in the renewable energy value chain. The location in Pithampur, an established industrial hub, offers logistical advantages and access to skilled resources, supporting timely execution and operational efficiency.
The investment also aligns with national initiatives promoting self-reliance in solar manufacturing and the development of integrated clean energy ecosystems. With growing demand for solar power across residential, commercial, and industrial segments, the new facility is expected to contribute to meeting India’s renewable energy targets.
Shakti Pumps continues to build on its legacy of innovation and sustainability by expanding into adjacent sectors that complement its core business. Through this investment, the company aims to strengthen its role in enabling energy-efficient and environmentally responsible solutions while creating long-term value for stakeholders.
