manufacturing news

SABIC will showcase a wide range of next-generation material solutions at PlastIndia 2026, reinforcing its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly expanding industrial and manufacturing landscape. Exhibiting under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow Together,” the company will demonstrate how advanced materials and technical know-how are helping drive progress across mobility, energy, infrastructure, packaging and consumer applications.

At the event, SABIC will highlight its role in enabling electrification, lightweight design and the use of renewable materials and energy. The exhibits will underline how collaboration with customers allows the company to anticipate future requirements and jointly develop solutions tailored to regional needs. India remains a key strategic market for SABIC, both in terms of manufacturing growth and innovation potential.

Visitors will gain insight into how material science can improve product performance, enhance manufacturing efficiency and contribute to sustainability goals, particularly in sectors experiencing rapid transformation. Sami Al-Osaimi, Executive Vice President, Polymers SBU at SABIC, said that close engagement with customers and value-chain partners is central to the company’s approach. He noted that PlastIndia 2026 provides an important platform to demonstrate how advanced materials can support India’s development ambitions while delivering performance and sustainability benefits across industries.

SABIC’s exhibition showcase is organized into four immersive zones—MOVE, BUILD, POWER and CARE—each representing a key pillar of everyday life and industrial progress. Together, these zones demonstrate how advanced materials can address evolving application needs while supporting performance, efficiency and sustainability.

The MOVE zone highlights solutions developed for electric mobility and automotive applications, with an emphasis on lightweight construction, safety and durability. It features SABIC’s MEGAMOLDING™ platform, which enables the manufacture of large, high-performance thermoplastic components such as battery enclosures, helping manufacturers improve design flexibility and production efficiency while supporting reliable EV infrastructure.

In the BUILD zone, SABIC showcases materials designed for piping and construction applications that deliver long-term strength and enhanced resistance to cracking, while significantly reducing weight compared to traditional metal alternatives. These solutions support safer water distribution networks and contribute to more robust, future-ready infrastructure.

The POWER and CARE zones focus on renewable energy and everyday consumer needs, respectively. POWER presents material solutions for solar and clean energy systems, including floating photovoltaic installations and high-performance panels engineered for durability and weather resistance. CARE highlights materials for packaging, consumer products and healthcare, emphasizing protection, recyclability, user convenience and extended shelf life, alongside specialized solutions for medical devices and personal protection.

With more than 40 years of collaboration in India, SABIC combines global expertise with strong local capabilities to support customer growth and application development. Its participation at PlastIndia 2026 reinforces its long-term focus on progress through materials innovation, technology and partnership.
