RRP Defense Limited has entered into an exclusive partnership with global electro-optical technology company ESC BAZ to introduce the Diamond Observation System in India and jointly explore international market opportunities. The collaboration positions RRP Defense to establish a strong presence in advanced AI-enabled surveillance and intelligent observation technologies.

The Diamond system is designed for continuous monitoring in complete darkness, delivering daylight-quality imaging through advanced electro-optical technology. Equipped with artificial intelligence for real-time detection and analytics, the platform supports faster identification of potential threats and enhanced situational awareness across defence and homeland security applications.

Under the agreement, RRP Defense will combine its manufacturing capabilities and market reach with ESC BAZ’s specialised surveillance technology to develop a new business segment focused on intelligent observation systems. The companies also intend to progressively localise manufacturing and expand exports from India in line with the country’s “Make in India, Sell to the World” vision.

The Diamond platform offers an 80-degree field of view with image resolution of up to 4240 × 2832 pixels and can be deployed on fixed towers, border installations, tactical masts and rapidly repositionable surveillance systems. The technology is intended for applications including border security, military bases, critical infrastructure, industrial facilities and perimeter protection.

The partnership comes at a time when demand for electro-optical and infrared surveillance systems is rising globally. Industry estimates place the global military EO/IR market at around US$11.1 billion, while the Indian market represents an opportunity of approximately US$580 million. RRP Defense believes the Diamond platform could contribute nearly 30% of the potential revenue opportunity within its emerging surveillance technology business.

Commenting on the development, RRP Defense said the partnership is about building a long-term technology platform rather than simply adding another product to its portfolio. The company aims to create indigenous capabilities in advanced surveillance systems while addressing both domestic and international defence markets. The collaboration also supports India’s growing emphasis on self-reliance in defence manufacturing by enabling local production, system integration and future technology development.

As geopolitical and security challenges continue to evolve, AI-powered surveillance solutions are becoming increasingly important for protecting borders, strategic infrastructure and high-value assets. With the Diamond Observation System, RRP Defense is expanding its portfolio into a specialised, high-value segment that combines advanced optics, artificial intelligence and next-generation situational awareness for modern security operations.

RRP Defense has evolved into a deep-tech defence enterprise focused on Electro-Optics, Thermal Imaging, and UAV systems. With recent acquisitions such as RRP Drone Innovation and the formation of Vimananu Limited, the company offers a full spectrum of systems, including drone-in-a-box platforms and counter-drone technologies. Its collaborations with Meprolight and CYGR (France/USA), supported by semiconductor innovations from RRP Electronics, position the company to deliver precision-engineered, mission-ready solutions for Indian and international defence customers.
