RMC Switchgears Limited (BSE: RMC) has announced key updates on its ongoing projects and corporate activities. These include the progress of its 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Jaipur, the receipt of a ₹59.12 crore order under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), and the current status of its planned migration to the BSE Main Board.
RMC Switchgears is advancing the development of its 1 GW solar module plant in Jaipur. With an investment of ₹100 crore, this facility is central to the company’s plan to enter the solar manufacturing space and strengthen its renewable energy offerings. Initially slated to go live by October 2025, the project has faced delays due to unforeseen circumstances. The launch is now expected in the fourth quarter of the current financial year.
Funding has been secured through a mix of internal reserves and debt financing from SIDBI. RMC has already initiated procurement of critical equipment, with delivery and installation underway in line with the revised schedule. Key operational hires have also been made to support the plant’s commissioning and ramp-up.
Once fully operational, the plant is expected to reduce procurement costs and risks for RMC’s EPC projects, enhancing competitiveness, particularly in government tenders. The project will also benefit from incentives under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS) 2024. Full-scale production is targeted for FY26.
In a significant boost to its distribution business, RMC has received a Letter of Intent worth ₹59.12 crore from Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL). The contract, awarded under the RDSS initiative, involves feeder segregation work in the Tonk Circle area of Rajasthan.
The turnkey project includes infrastructure development for the separation of 11 KV mixed feeders, and reflects RMC’s strong track record in power distribution execution. The order aligns with the company’s broader strategy of integrating renewable energy and grid improvement capabilities.
RMC has completed the formalities required for its transition to the BSE Main Board and is now waiting for final confirmation from the exchange. The application is in line with updated eligibility criteria recently announced by BSE. The move is expected to improve stock visibility, increase liquidity, and broaden investor participation—especially among institutional stakeholders.
