Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), the Queensland Government’s international business and trade agency, is leading a prominent group of mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) companies to the International Mining, Equipment & Minerals Exhibition (IME) 2025, taking place in Kolkata from 30 October to 2 November.

This initiative highlights Queensland, Australia’s global mining capabilities, featuring innovations in digital technologies, mine safety, critical-minerals processing, and sustainable extraction practices. The delegation arrives at a pivotal time as India accelerates modernization of its mining and resources industry to support its energy transition goals.

“IME 2025 comes at a time of major transformation in the global mining and critical-minerals landscape,” said Abhinav Bhatia, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner – South Asia, Trade and Investment Queensland. “Our mission is to deepen collaboration that encourages innovation, strengthens safety, and supports India’s pathway toward sustainable and self-reliant growth. Queensland’s METS sector shares India’s commitment to responsible and future-focused mining.”

The Queensland delegation at IME 2025 features a diverse group of companies showcasing the state’s depth of expertise across the mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) sector. From advanced software to precision engineering, these innovators represent Queensland’s commitment to driving safer, smarter, and more sustainable mining operations globally.

Among them, PX4 is demonstrating its advanced land-management platform designed to enhance regulatory compliance and streamline strategic decision-making, while Veldon Group is presenting its integrated engineering solutions spanning energy, renewables, and infrastructure. Mineral Technologies is highlighting its high-efficiency mineral-processing systems that improve recovery rates and promote environmental sustainability. In the field of mine safety, Nome is offering cutting-edge rock-monitoring systems, and Rim-Lock® is showcasing its automated tyre and rim-retention technology aimed at reducing risks and improving onsite safety.

Complementing these innovations, Megapulse introduces eco-friendly electrical maintenance systems that extend battery life and enhance fleet efficiency, while NuevoTech Software Ltd focuses on digital mine-planning and simulation for optimized performance. IHC Mining (Royal IHC) brings customized mining equipment and geo-metallurgical expertise, and Ashar Locker, an Indo-Australian collaboration, presents advanced screening-media solutions for quarrying and mining. Rounding out the delegation, XDR Drilling displays its world-class exploration drill rigs, already serving international markets and maintaining a strong presence in Gujarat, India.

After the Kolkata exhibition, the delegation will travel to Bhubaneswar on 1 November for the Queensland METS Mission, hosting targeted meetings with Indian mining companies, distributors, and government officials. The goal is to explore cooperation in technology exchange, mine safety innovation, and sustainable operations.

Queensland remains one of Australia’s leading export-oriented states and a strategic trade partner for India. According to the Queensland–India Trade & Investment Strategy 2025–28, Queensland’s goods exports to India totaled AUD 14.4 billion in 2024, with coal accounting for AUD 12.7 billion of that figure.

As both nations advance toward cleaner energy and resource efficiency, Queensland’s METS sector is increasingly collaborating with Indian industries in critical minerals, automation, and low-emission technology development—supporting India’s objectives of 50% non-fossil-fuel power generation by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

“Queensland is proud to work alongside India to promote sustainable mining and responsible resource development,” added Mr Bhatia. “Our companies bring world-class technical knowledge, a strong safety culture, and environmental expertise that align perfectly with India’s scale and ambition.”
