Pulse Energy Partners with HPCL’s HPe Charge to Enable Unified Access to 5,000+ EV Chargers

Manufacturing-News

Pulse Energy, a payments-focused electric vehicle charging platform, has announced a strategic collaboration with HPe Charge, the EV charging arm of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), to integrate HPCL’s network of more than 5,000 charging points into Pulse Energy’s interoperable access and payment system.

Through this integration, EV users will be able to locate, access, and pay for charging at HPCL stations using a single interface, eliminating the need to manage multiple apps and payment methods. HPCL now joins a growing list of charging networks accessible via Pulse Energy, including Shell, ChargeZone, BESCOM, Thunderplus, and several regional and national operators.

India’s EV charging landscape has traditionally been fragmented, with individual networks operating on closed systems. While much of the industry’s focus has been on rapidly expanding charger installations, Pulse Energy has concentrated on simplifying how drivers interact with existing infrastructure. The platform currently supports more than 18 million electric kilometres driven each month across partner networks, without owning charging assets or offering energy discounts.

Akhil Jayaprakash, Co-Founder of Pulse Energy, said India’s challenge is less about the number of chargers and more about ease of access. He noted that Pulse Energy is building the invisible infrastructure that allows EV drivers to move seamlessly across networks.

HPCL has been steadily expanding its EV charging presence across highways, fuel stations, and urban locations under the HPe Charge brand. The partnership with Pulse Energy is expected to significantly enhance real-world charging accessibility, particularly for intercity and long-distance EV travel.

For EV users, the collaboration reduces friction and improves convenience. For charging operators, it supports higher utilisation of installed infrastructure. More broadly, the integration reflects a gradual shift within India’s EV ecosystem from isolated network competition toward interoperability and collaboration, a transition widely seen as essential for large-scale EV adoption. As electric mobility continues to evolve, such behind-the-scenes integrations are likely to play a critical role in ensuring that charging access becomes as seamless and reliable as the vehicles themselves.

Pulse Energy is an India-focused electric mobility technology company building a payments-first, interoperable platform that simplifies access to public EV charging. The company connects multiple charging networks onto a single interface, allowing electric vehicle users to discover, access, and pay for charging seamlessly without relying on multiple apps or closed ecosystems.

By focusing on interoperability rather than owning charging hardware, Pulse Energy enables better utilization of existing infrastructure while reducing friction for drivers and operators alike. Its platform supports large volumes of electric kilometres driven each month across partner networks, playing a critical role in strengthening India’s EV charging ecosystem as it scales toward mass adoption.
