Primetals Technologies has secured an order from Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials to supply 23 equipment packages for foil mill expansion projects at multiple locations in China. Signed in August 2026, the contract covers Air Bearing ShapeMeters (ABSM), ISV-Electric and ISV-Electric Compact spray bars, and VPT3 position transducers. The equipment is designed to improve strip shape control, product quality and rolling mill performance.
The order marks the second major project in China involving Primetals Technologies’ ISV-Electric and ISV-Electric Compact spray bar technologies. The repeat order reflects Dingsheng’s continued use of the company’s solutions and provides another large-scale reference for electric spray bar applications in modern rolling mills.
Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials is one of China’s leading manufacturers of aluminium foil products, supplying a wide range of industries and end-use markets. Its ongoing investments in production capacity and rolling technology are aimed at meeting demand for high-quality aluminium products while maintaining consistent manufacturing standards.
The latest expansion will combine measurement and control technologies to help Dingsheng improve the flatness of rolled aluminium strip and maintain product consistency. The Air Bearing ShapeMeter measures strip shape, while the Integral Solenoid Valve (ISV) spray bar system supports adjustments to the rolling process. VPT3 position transducers provide position measurement for the equipment.
By integrating these technologies, Primetals Technologies is offering a coordinated solution for strip shape measurement and control. The system is designed to support improved flatness, consistent product quality and efficient mill operation. These capabilities are important in aluminium foil production, where product specifications and surface quality can affect performance in downstream applications.
The order also continues a long-standing business relationship between the two companies. Dingsheng has previously selected Primetals Technologies’ measurement and flatness control systems for its rolling operations, including projects involving large quantities of Air Bearing ShapeMeters and ISV spray bar equipment. The performance of these earlier installations has helped establish the basis for further cooperation. The latest contract extends the relationship as Dingsheng expands its manufacturing capacity and invests in equipment for its foil production operations.
For Primetals Technologies, the order strengthens its position in the Chinese aluminium rolling market and adds to its experience in supplying electric spray bar systems for large-scale industrial applications. The project will support Dingsheng’s efforts to increase output while maintaining the process control required for high-value aluminium foil products.
