Praana Group has completed the acquisition of Multi-Chem, which will now operate as Sterling MultiChem under the Sterling Specialty Chemicals business. The transaction enhances Praana Group’s presence in the specialty chemicals sector while expanding its capabilities in the global energy industry.

The integration combines Sterling Specialty Chemicals’ strengths in specialty chemical manufacturing, polymer technologies and advanced surfactant systems with Multi-Chem’s application-focused services in the oil and gas sector. The combined platform is positioned to deliver a broader range of solutions to energy operators across upstream, midstream and downstream activities.

Multi-Chem has established a strong footprint in oilfield chemicals, offering solutions designed to address complex operational challenges in drilling, completion and production. Its portfolio includes products and services focused on flow assurance, corrosion control, scale management, water treatment and process optimisation. These capabilities support operational efficiency, improve asset performance and contribute to long-term reliability across energy infrastructure.

Through this acquisition, Praana Group aims to strengthen its ability to provide integrated chemical solutions supported by both manufacturing scale and field-level technical expertise. The combined entity is expected to enhance customer support through a wider product range, improved service delivery and expanded application knowledge.

Commenting on the development, Vishal Goenka, Vice Chairman of Praana Group, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy of building a global specialty chemicals platform driven by technology, manufacturing strength and customer-focused solutions. He noted that Multi-Chem’s established expertise in oilfield applications complements Sterling’s capabilities and will help expand the group’s reach across key markets in the energy sector.

Customers are expected to benefit from enhanced technical support, access to a more comprehensive portfolio of specialty chemical solutions and continued focus on safety and operational performance. Both organisations share a commitment to delivering reliable products and services tailored to demanding industrial environments.

Sterling Specialty Chemicals will continue to manage operations for Sterling MultiChem as integration progresses. The transition will focus on maintaining business continuity while identifying opportunities for collaboration across technology development, manufacturing efficiencies and long-term growth initiatives.
