Porsche India has launched the new Cayenne Electric, introducing an all-electric version of one of the company’s established model lines and expanding its electric vehicle portfolio in India. The new model brings an electric powertrain to the Cayenne range while retaining the model’s focus on performance, versatility and everyday usability.
Porsche will continue to offer petrol-powered Cayenne variants into the next decade, giving customers a choice between internal combustion and electric powertrains within the model range. The new Cayenne Electric combines Porsche’s performance characteristics with electric mobility. The model has been developed to retain the driving experience associated with the Cayenne while providing the benefits of an electric powertrain.
“The Cayenne enters an important new era with electrification, combining uncompromising Porsche performance with electric mobility while remaining unmistakably Porsche,” said Ashutosh Dixit, Head of Porsche India. “It continues to offer the everyday usability our customers expect from the Cayenne, together with the performance, engineering and driving experience that define our sports cars. Its introduction marks an important next chapter for Porsche in India as we continue to broaden the choices available to our customers,” he added.
The Cayenne Electric expands Porsche India’s range of fully electric vehicles and provides customers with another option in the premium electric vehicle segment. Alongside the standard Cayenne Electric, Porsche is also introducing the higher-performance Cayenne Turbo Electric from launch.
The two electric variants allow customers to select a model according to their performance requirements and intended use. The Cayenne’s established combination of performance and everyday practicality remains central to the new electric models. The launch event in Mumbai brings the Cayenne Electric to Indian media and customers, with deliveries commencing on the same day. The introduction adds another fully electric model to Porsche India’s existing portfolio as the company expands its electric vehicle offering in the Indian market.
The Cayenne is one of Porsche’s established model lines and has played an important role in the company’s product portfolio. With the launch of the electric version, Porsche is extending the model family into the growing electric vehicle segment while continuing to offer petrol variants. The Cayenne Electric represents Porsche India’s latest step in expanding customer choice across powertrain technologies. The company is continuing to develop its electric vehicle portfolio while maintaining its existing range of petrol-powered models.
The launch also reflects the broader shift in the automotive industry towards electric mobility. By combining an electric powertrain with the Cayenne’s established vehicle concept, Porsche is seeking to address demand for electric vehicles among customers who require performance, comfort and everyday usability. With the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric now available in India, Porsche customers have additional options within the Cayenne range as the company expands its presence in the country’s premium electric vehicle market.
