The Government of Odisha has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) for the expansion of the company’s manufacturing facility in Khordha, reinforcing the state’s focus on attracting large-scale industrial investments and strengthening its food processing and beverage sector.

The MoU was exchanged during Odisha FoodPro 2026, an industry event organised by the Government of Odisha in association with the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL). The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with senior government officials and representatives of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages.

Representing HCCB at the event were Harsh Bhutani, Chief Financial Officer, and Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability Officer. Senior officials from the Odisha Government, including Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Industries, Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, D Prashanth Kumar Reddy, Managing Director, IDCO, and Aboli Sunil Naravane, Director of Industries and Managing Director of IPICOL (additional charge), were also present during the exchange of the agreement.

The proposed expansion is expected to strengthen Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages’ manufacturing capacity in Odisha while supporting the growing demand for its products. The project will also contribute to the development of the state’s industrial ecosystem by creating new opportunities across manufacturing, supply chains and allied sectors.

The investment aligns with the Odisha Government’s efforts to position the state as a preferred destination for manufacturing and food processing industries. Through policy support, improved infrastructure and investment-friendly initiatives, Odisha has been actively attracting companies across multiple sectors, including food and beverages.

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages has maintained a strong manufacturing presence in Odisha through its Khordha facility, which has played an important role in serving regional markets. The planned expansion is expected to further strengthen the company’s production capabilities while supporting its long-term growth strategy in eastern India.

The project is also expected to contribute to the state’s economic development by promoting industrial activity, generating employment opportunities and encouraging the growth of supporting industries. As demand for packaged beverages continues to rise across the country, the expanded facility will help improve production efficiency and strengthen supply to key markets.

The MoU signed at Odisha FoodPro 2026 reflects the shared commitment of the Government of Odisha and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to promote industrial growth, expand manufacturing capacity and support sustainable economic development. The collaboration is expected to further enhance Odisha’s reputation as an attractive destination for investment while strengthening its position in India’s food and beverage manufacturing sector.
