Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd has received an independent Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating of 67.1 for FY26 from SES ESG Research Private Limited (SES ESG), a SEBI-registered Category II ESG Rating Provider. The assessment is based on the company’s performance and disclosures for FY2025-26, with the rating communication issued on August 31, 2026.

The assessment evaluates Nuvoco’s performance across environmental, social and governance parameters using a double-materiality framework and industry-specific weightages. The evaluation considers the company’s policies, targets, initiatives and reported performance across key sustainability areas.

Nuvoco’s environmental performance was supported by progress in water stewardship, resource efficiency, circularity and waste management. During FY26, the company achieved 2.04 times water positivity and maintained zero liquid discharge across all its sites. It also recovered 97.83% of its total waste through recycling. Water consumption intensity improved to 104.7 litres per tonne of cementitious material from 113 litres per tonne in FY25.

The company continued to increase the use of alternative fuels and raw materials, achieving an Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials (AFR) ratio of 10% in FY26, compared with 9.6% in the previous year. Approximately 3.5 lakh tonnes of industrial waste was co-processed during the year, supporting waste-to-resource utilisation and reducing reliance on conventional fuels. Nuvoco also advanced the deployment of electric loaders across its plants and mines as part of its green mobility initiatives.

“Circularity and increasing the use of alternative fuels remain important elements of our manufacturing and decarbonisation strategy. During FY26, we achieved an AFR ratio of around 10% while significantly advancing industrial waste co-processing. We are now working towards increasing AFR utilisation to nearly 13% in FY27 through stronger sourcing, process optimisation and digital interventions,” said Uma Suryam, Head – Manufacturing (North), Nuvoco Vistas.

Water management also remained a key focus. “During FY26, Nuvoco achieved 2.04 times water positivity and maintained zero liquid discharge across all sites, while continuing to improve water-use efficiency. We will continue to strengthen conservation, recycling, reuse and recharge initiatives across our operations and surrounding communities,” said Raju Ramchandran, Head – Manufacturing (East), Safety & Sustainability, Nuvoco Vistas.

Nuvoco’s Ready-Mix Concrete operations used more than 1.2 lakh tonnes of alternative raw materials, while its Aqua Debris water recycling system was deployed across 11 RMX plants. Recycled water usage increased 73% to 19.43 litres per cubic metre, while concrete emission intensity improved to 2.05 kg CO₂ per cubic metre.

The company also planted approximately 1.2 lakh saplings through afforestation and ecosystem restoration initiatives. Social indicators included lower permanent employee turnover of 14.5%, zero fatalities and human-rights training coverage of 80.52% of employees and 100% of workers. Governance performance included 100% attendance at Board committee meetings. The initiatives form part of Nuvoco’s DIRE strategy covering Digitalization, Innovation and Renewables and support its vision of building a safer, smarter and sustainable world.
