Mouser Electronics, Inc, a leading global distributor of electronic components and industrial automation products, has added the new Synaptics SL1680 embedded IoT processor to its portfolio. This latest addition is part of Synaptics’ Astra™ family of AI-native system-on-chip (SoC) processors, engineered for high-performance Android™ and Linux®-based consumer, enterprise, and industrial IoT solutions.
The SL1680 processor, now available through Mouser, integrates a quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A73 64-bit CPU, a multi-TOPS neural processing unit (NPU), and a power-efficient GPU optimized for advanced graphics rendering and AI workloads. It also supports 4K video encoding/decoding, image signal processing (ISP), and enhanced audio capabilities, enabling high-speed, multimedia-rich applications across a variety of IoT ecosystems.
The new processor joins other Synaptics Astra™ SoCs such as the SL1640 and SL1620, which feature a unified, open software framework, full AI toolkit support, and industry-leading wireless connectivity. Together, these processors deliver the flexibility and computing power required for next-generation connected devices.
For developers, Mouser also offers the Synaptics SL1680-EVK Evaluation Kit, part of the Astra Machina™ Foundation Series. This modular platform enables fast prototyping and testing with swappable compute modules, a shared I/O board, and multiple daughter cards for connectivity, debugging, and extended interface options — accelerating design and deployment of IoT and AI applications.
