Mercedes-Benz India has introduced a range of customer-focused service initiatives aimed at improving convenience, transparency and ownership costs for its customers. The new offerings include ‘Service Select’ for Mercedes-Benz vehicles that are seven years and older, along with India’s first AI-powered automated Vehicle Scanner at the newly inaugurated Landmark Cars service facility in Mumbai.

The initiatives are part of Mercedes-Benz India’s focus on providing a seamless ownership experience while using technology to reduce service time, improve transparency and manage total cost of ownership. ‘Service Select’ is designed for customers with older Mercedes-Benz vehicles and offers savings of up to 25% on select parts, benefits under Mobilio Lite, a two-year warranty on parts and expert service support aimed at protecting vehicle residual value.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said the company aims to be the “Mercedes of Service” by challenging conventional servicing practices and using AI and technology to improve efficiency and customer experience. He said the new Vehicle Scanner is an important step towards greater transparency, trust and convenience, while Service Select helps optimise ownership costs for existing customers.

The AI-powered Vehicle Scanner has been introduced at the Landmark Cars facility in Jogeshwari, Mumbai. The system uses a 360-degree high-resolution camera setup to capture the exterior condition of a vehicle as it passes through the scanner. Artificial intelligence analyses the images, identifies visible damage and assesses tyre tread depth.

The information is transmitted digitally and made available to service advisors on tablets. The automated process reduces paperwork and inspection time while giving customers a clear digital record of their vehicle’s condition. The system also links the inspection findings with the workshop order, supporting smoother service operations.

The Vehicle Scanner is already operational in several international markets, including Germany, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Turkey. Landmark Cars’ new Mumbai facility covers approximately 58,000 sq ft and is the city’s largest luxury car service facility. It includes 16 preventive maintenance and general repair bays, nine body and paint bays and nine supporting bays, along with a 6,000 sq. ft. spare-parts area. Around 95 trained professionals will support operations.

Mercedes-Benz India currently has more than 90 service touchpoints and over 1,200 service bays across the country, supported by more than 4,200 employees. The company plans to expand its network to more than 20 MAR 20X touchpoints by the end of 2026.The company’s wider service portfolio includes STAR EASE Service Packages, a three-year standard warranty, extended warranty options, doorstep mobile service, express service solutions, battery health reports, collision support and mobility assistance.

Mercedes-Benz India said its franchise partners are committing investments of more than ₹450 crore over the next two years to expand the luxury sales and service network. These initiatives are aimed at delivering faster service, greater transparency and lower ownership costs while strengthening the overall luxury ownership experience.
