L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan-based Azuremoto Technologies Inc to jointly develop and expand advanced power semiconductor solutions for India and global markets. The partnership will focus on Silicon Carbide (SiC) power semiconductor products for artificial intelligence (AI) data centres, along with rectifiers and MOS-based semiconductor devices for industrial, energy and consumer applications. The collaboration aims to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem while supporting the growing demand for energy-efficient power solutions.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work together in two major product segments. The first includes SiC MOSFETs, diodes, modules and related components designed for AI data centre applications such as power supplies, server power systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and other energy-efficient infrastructure.

The second area of collaboration covers rectifiers and MOS-based semiconductor products used in energy meters, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, solar inverters, brushless DC motor drives and a wide range of consumer electronics. The partnership also establishes a framework for joint market development, customer engagement and promotional activities aimed at AI data centre operators, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs) and power solution providers.

As part of the collaboration, both companies will provide technical support through reference designs, engineering samples, evaluation kits and application documentation. They also plan to work towards long-term supply agreements, product customisation, demand forecasting and future co-development projects. The two companies expect to finalise a comprehensive Distribution, Supply or Joint Development Agreement within the next year.

Under the agreed responsibilities, LTSCT will provide product roadmaps, technical specifications, engineering support, application guidance and regulatory compliance assistance. Azuremoto will focus on market development, customer relationships, sales activities and first-level technical support across agreed markets.

Dr Sandeep Kumar, Chief Executive of LTSCT, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to building India’s semiconductor capabilities through strategic global collaborations. He said India and Taiwan are emerging as important partners in semiconductor development, and the agreement combines LTSCT’s design expertise with Azuremoto’s experience in semiconductor technology and market development.

Stanley Lin, Chief Executive Officer of Azuremoto Technologies, said the collaboration goes beyond a traditional business relationship by bringing together design expertise, product development and market access. He added that the partnership will help accelerate the delivery of high-performance semiconductor solutions for AI infrastructure and industrial applications.

The announcement comes as India continues to strengthen its semiconductor industry through supportive government policies, including tax incentives and the India Semiconductor Mission. These initiatives are encouraging greater investment in chip design, advanced electronics and local innovation.

L&T Semiconductor Technologies is India’s first major fabless semiconductor products company. It designs semiconductor devices for sectors including automotive, industrial, energy, telecommunications and data centres. With operations in India, the United States, Europe and Japan, the company continues to expand its global presence while supporting the growth of India’s semiconductor industry.
