L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) has signed a major contract to execute a gas compression facilities project for a leading client in the Middle East. The contract follows a Letter of Award issued during FY26 and strengthens L&T’s position in the execution of large and complex hydrocarbon projects.

The project covers engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of gas compression facilities for new onshore installations. The scope includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities.

The facilities will be designed to process sour gas while meeting the applicable standards, technical specifications and project requirements of the client. The project will also include supporting infrastructure required for reliable and efficient operation of the gas compression plants.

As part of the integrated project, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will construct two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations. These substations will provide the power infrastructure required to support the gas compression facilities. The project brings together L&T’s capabilities across hydrocarbon engineering and power infrastructure, enabling the company to offer an integrated solution covering both process facilities and electrical systems.

E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said the contract marks the beginning of a strategically important project that will add substantial gas compression and utility infrastructure. He said the project draws on L&T’s experience in executing large hydrocarbon facilities and strengthens its ability to deliver integrated solutions for technically demanding sour gas applications.

LTEH Onshore is one of India’s major EPC businesses serving the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors. The business provides Lump Sum Turnkey solutions and has executed projects across several international markets. Its project experience includes refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing facilities, fertiliser plants, LNG terminals and cross-country pipelines.

The new Middle East project adds to L&T’s international hydrocarbon portfolio and demonstrates the company’s ability to manage projects involving multiple engineering disciplines and complex process requirements. The combination of gas processing, compression, utilities and high-voltage power infrastructure is expected to require close coordination throughout the project lifecycle. L&T will draw on its engineering and project execution capabilities to deliver the facilities in line with the client’s requirements.

The project also highlights the continuing importance of gas infrastructure in supporting energy supply and industrial operations in the Middle East. With the contract, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore continues to expand its presence in large-scale international energy projects while leveraging its engineering, procurement and construction capabilities across the complete hydrocarbon value chain.
