The Transportation Infrastructure vertical of L&T has been awarded a major contract for the enhancement of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project forms part of Phase 1 of a broader road development programme initiated by the UAE authorities.
The scope of work covers the upgradation of the existing road stretch between Emirates Road (E611) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311). The current two-lane dual carriageway will be expanded to four lanes in each direction, significantly increasing capacity and improving traffic movement along the corridor.
A key component of the project is the construction of a large multi-directional interchange at E311, designed to ensure smooth traffic flow across all approaches. The development will also extend beyond the interchange with a newly built four-lane dual carriageway along Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. In addition, a dedicated interchange will be built to enable U-turns and improve access to developments on both sides of the roadway. The project is scheduled for completion within 36 months.
