Loom Solar, one of India’s rapidly growing solar technology manufacturers, has announced that its Learn Solar initiative has reached more than 50,000 participants through over 200 sessions conducted during the past six years. The milestone reflects rising public interest in solar energy adoption, entrepreneurship and skill development across India.
The initiative was launched to help bridge the knowledge gap around solar technology by equipping individuals, small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical understanding of India’s expanding renewable energy sector. Through simplified learning formats, the programme aims to make solar opportunities more accessible to people across urban and rural markets.
Learn Solar is delivered through webinars, workshops and digital education modules that cover solar technology basics, rooftop installation processes, business models and market opportunities. The programme is built on the belief that India’s clean energy progress depends not only on manufacturing capacity, but also on awareness and skilled participation.
According to the company, the strongest response has come from North and Central India, especially Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab. These states have seen increasing interest in solar solutions due to growing electricity demand, strong agricultural activity and expanding MSME clusters looking for dependable and cost-effective power options.
Loom Solar said the growing awareness generated through Learn Solar is translating into real market momentum. This includes expansion of local installer networks, higher rooftop solar adoption, increased interest in solar dealership opportunities and stronger alignment with government programmes such as PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
Amod Anand, Co-Founder and Director, Loom Solar, said, “Learn Solar was never created simply to build customers. It was created to build awareness and participation. We are encouraged to contribute to the nation by helping people understand solar energy and become more self-reliant. When people gain knowledge, they do not just adopt solar solutions—they create businesses, jobs and positive change within their communities.”
The initiative attracts participants from varied backgrounds, including new dealers, electricians, engineers, students, small business owners and existing solar installers. The company said this has helped position Learn Solar as both an educational platform and a gateway to employment and entrepreneurship in the renewable energy sector.
Loom Solar also highlighted grassroots success stories emerging from the programme. In one case, a small electrical shop owner in Rajasthan attended a Learn Solar session, later expanded into solar distribution and now supports nearby communities with clean energy products and services.
