Loom Solar, a rapidly growing integrated solar and energy storage manufacturer in India, has received an additional land allotment from the Government of Uttar Pradesh to expand its manufacturing footprint. The company has been allotted a 33,400 square metre (approximately 8.25 acres) plot at the Industrial Model Land Corporation (IMLC) in Meerut. The allotment was formalized at Lok Bhawan, Lucknow, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal ‘Nandi’ Gupta.

The newly allocated land is separate from Loom Solar’s existing 7.5-acre facility in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh, where a 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing plant is currently under development. Together, the Kosi and Meerut units are expected to significantly scale the company’s production capacity, strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s role in India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem.

The Meerut facility will focus on solar module production and is designed to support high-throughput manufacturing. Operating independently from the Kosi unit, the new plant will complement Loom Solar’s broader multi-gigawatt expansion plans and contribute to meeting the country’s rising demand for solar energy solutions. This expansion aligns with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.

Amod Anand, Co-Founder and Director of Loom Solar, stated that the additional land strengthens the company’s manufacturing capabilities and supports its long-term vision of building domestic capacity in both solar modules and battery energy storage systems. He added that the combined infrastructure of the Meerut and Kosi facilities will enable the company to meet growing demand while contributing to energy security and industrial growth.

The expansion is aligned with national initiatives such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and domestic manufacturing regulations aimed at reducing dependence on imports. By increasing local production, Loom Solar aims to enhance supply chain resilience and support India’s transition to clean energy.

In addition to solar modules, the company is scaling its battery energy storage systems portfolio to address the evolving needs of grid stability and renewable integration. The Meerut facility is expected to offer flexibility for future integration of energy storage manufacturing as part of its long-term strategy. The dual-facility approach across Kosi and Meerut is projected to generate substantial employment opportunities across manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and support sectors, contributing to regional economic development.

Loom Solar is a leading solar manufacturing and renewable energy solutions provider in India, offering high-efficiency solar panels, inverters, and energy storage systems. Headquartered in Faridabad, the company focuses on technology-driven innovation, domestic manufacturing, and sustainable energy solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial segments.
