KPIT Technologies today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Cymotive, a leading automotive cybersecurity specialist headquartered in Israel. The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals and achievement of defined milestones, is aimed at strengthening KPIT’s capabilities in AI-led cybersecurity solutions for the global mobility industry.

KPIT’s initial investment of USD 10 million will be made through preference capital, which will convert into equity upon achievement of agreed performance milestones by Cymotive. Following the conversion, KPIT plans to acquire the remaining stake in phases, with full ownership expected by mid-2029. The overall transaction value for acquiring 100% ownership is estimated between USD 60 million and USD 120 million, including the upfront investment, depending on Cymotive’s future revenue and EBIT performance.

The acquisition supports KPIT’s long-term strategy of building future-ready competencies in software-defined and AI-defined mobility. As connected and autonomous vehicle technologies continue to evolve, cybersecurity has become central to vehicle safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, and consumer trust.

Founded by senior Israeli cybersecurity experts along with CARIAD, the automotive software company of the Volkswagen Group, Cymotive specializes in vehicle lifecycle cybersecurity solutions. Its expertise spans secure vehicle architecture, threat modeling, intrusion detection systems, continuous monitoring, and homologation compliance. The company has established strong partnerships with leading automotive manufacturers and technology providers worldwide.

The integration of Cymotive’s cybersecurity expertise with KPIT’s mobility software portfolio is expected to create a comprehensive offering for global OEMs. Combined with KPIT’s Mobility Intelligence platform, Beacon, the partnership will support development of AI-enabled cybersecurity solutions embedded across the vehicle lifecycle — from design and development to production and operations.

Kishor Patil, CEO and Managing Director of KPIT Technologies, said cybersecurity is becoming a foundational requirement in the era of software and AI-defined vehicles. He noted that Cymotive’s specialized capabilities will strengthen KPIT’s ability to deliver secure and scalable mobility software solutions while creating differentiated value for automotive manufacturers globally.

Dr Andre Stoffels, CFO and Board Member at CARIAD, said the partnership brings together deep automotive software expertise and advanced cybersecurity capabilities needed to address rapidly evolving mobility challenges. Yuval Diskin, Chairman of Cymotive, said the partnership with KPIT will help accelerate Cymotive’s global growth by leveraging KPIT’s mobility expertise, delivery scale, and strong relationships with OEMs worldwide.
