Reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and community participation, Jindal Stainless marked World Environment Day 2026 with a series of sustainability-focused initiatives across its manufacturing locations in Hisar and Jajpur. The programmes were designed to encourage responsible environmental practices while strengthening engagement with employees, local communities, and future generations.

Aligned with the global theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” the company launched awareness campaigns, waste management programmes, and plantation drives aimed at promoting sustainable lifestyles and environmental responsibility.

A key highlight of the celebrations was the launch of a plastic-free campaign in Hisar, where 10,000 reusable cotton bags were distributed to vegetable vendors in local markets. The initiative was aimed at reducing dependence on single-use plastics while encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives in everyday transactions. The campaign received positive participation from vendors and residents, helping spread awareness about sustainable consumption practices.

In another significant step, Jindal Stainless organised a large-scale electronic waste collection drive in partnership with an authorised recycling agency. The programme collected nearly 900 kilograms of e-waste from manufacturing facilities and nearby residential communities, ensuring responsible disposal and recycling of electronic materials that could otherwise contribute to environmental degradation.

To further strengthen ecological conservation efforts, plantation drives were conducted across operational areas and adjoining communities. Around 1,500 saplings were planted in Jajpur, contributing to the company’s long-term objective of increasing green cover and promoting biodiversity in the region.

Educational and awareness-based activities also formed an important part of the celebrations. Children participated in competitions and interactive programmes centred on environmental protection, helping foster sustainability awareness among younger generations. The company also encouraged employee participation in various environmental activities, creating a culture of shared responsibility.

Commenting on the initiatives, Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, stated that environmental responsibility extends beyond industrial operations and must become an integral part of everyday behaviour. He noted that meaningful change is achieved when businesses, communities, and individuals work together toward common sustainability goals.

The company continues to align its environmental programmes with broader sustainability commitments, including its long-term Net Zero aspirations. Through responsible manufacturing practices, community engagement, resource efficiency, and environmental awareness programmes, Jindal Stainless remains focused on creating lasting positive impact while supporting a greener future for the communities in which it operates.
