Jindal Stainless has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haryana State Board of Technical Education for an additional three years to further strengthen industry-oriented technical education and skill development in the stainless steel sector. The renewed collaboration aims to deepen industry-academia engagement by expanding practical training, curriculum integration and technical awareness related to stainless steel manufacturing and applications across government polytechnic institutes in Haryana.
The agreement was signed at the HSBTE office in Panchkula by Dr Rajesh Goel and  Vijay Bindlish in the presence of senior officials from both organisations. As part of the next phase of the partnership, Jindal Stainless’ Stainless Academy will extend its stainless steel elective programme to an additional government polytechnic institute in Haryana. The collaboration will also focus on upgrading laboratory infrastructure to strengthen hands-on technical learning for students.
Commenting on the renewal, Abhyuday Jindal said strengthening India’s manufacturing capabilities begins with building stronger technical education systems and industry-ready talent. He stated that the continued partnership reflects a shared commitment to bridging the gap between classroom learning and industrial application through practical and skill-based education. He added that the Stainless Academy initiative aims to improve awareness, technical capability and workforce readiness in line with the growing stainless steel ecosystem in India.
Vijay Bindlish said the collaboration over the past few years has demonstrated the importance of aligning technical education with evolving industry requirements. He added that the renewed partnership would continue to focus on improving students’ understanding of stainless steel applications while creating greater exposure to real-world manufacturing practices.
Under the ongoing programme, a 45-hour stainless steel elective course is currently being conducted at Government Polytechnic, Hisar through sessions delivered by Jindal Stainless engineers. In addition, a compulsory stainless steel module has been incorporated into the curriculum across government polytechnics in Haryana. Since the inception of the collaboration, more than 5,500 students have been trained and upskilled under the HSBTE partnership.
Jindal Stainless said its broader Stainless Academy initiative has so far trained over 9,000 students across engineering colleges, industrial training institutes and government polytechnics. The programme has also supported skill enhancement for more than 80,000 fabricators across India through specialised capability-building initiatives. The company noted that its focus remains on strengthening India’s manufacturing workforce through industry-led skilling, institutional partnerships and curriculum integration programmes designed to address evolving industrial requirements.
Jindal Stainless, India’s largest stainless steel manufacturer, continues to invest in sustainable manufacturing practices and infrastructure innovation, supporting long-term industrial growth and efficiency. Jindal Stainless reported an annual turnover of ₹40,182 crore (USD 4.75 billion) in FY25 and is progressing toward a 4.2 million tonne annual melt capacity by FY27. The company operates 16 manufacturing and processing facilities across India and overseas locations including Spain and Indonesia, supported by a global presence in 12 countries as of March 2025.
