Illumia, previously known as Transact + CBORD, has announced the launch of a new office at the International Tech Park in Chennai for its Global Capability Center (GCC). This development underscores the company’s continued focus on India as a key location for advancing its global technology and product initiatives.

The new facility was formally inaugurated on April 27 with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. The event was attended by Chief Technology Officer Taran Lent, General Manager Srinivasgopal (Srini) Raman, and members of the Chennai leadership team, marking a significant step in the company’s regional expansion.

With a presence in Chennai spanning nearly 14 years, Illumia has steadily built a strong foundation in the city. The GCC now serves as a hub for product development, technology operations, and key business functions. The Chennai team comprises around 80 professionals working across areas such as cloud technology, product engineering, finance, marketing, and human resources.

The company is continuing to expand its workforce at this location, with plans to hire talent in specialized areas including cloud engineering, information security, and product development. This recruitment drive is aligned with Illumia’s broader growth plans and its focus on strengthening technical capabilities to support global operations.

Greg Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Illumia, stated that the company’s expansion in Chennai reflects a deliberate growth strategy. He highlighted India’s strong talent base and emphasized the role of the Chennai team in enhancing product innovation, engineering strength, and operational efficiency. He also noted that the investment signals a long-term commitment to the region.

Srinivasgopal Raman added that Chennai remains a vital center for technical expertise, and the expanded office will enable the team to scale operations, attract skilled professionals, and contribute to global projects. He emphasized the importance of building capabilities across cloud computing, security, and product engineering to support the company’s future direction.

Illumia operates as a business unit of Roper Technologies and provides technology solutions across payments, access systems, foodservice management, and credentialing. Its platforms are used by over 10,000 institutions worldwide, including those in higher education, healthcare, and senior living sectors.
