Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG), a long-established name in safety and security solutions, has introduced a web-enabled connected guest lock system for the hospitality industry. The solution was showcased at Smart Home Expo 2026, held from April 28 to 30 at Jio World Convention Centre.
Developed for hotels, serviced apartments, premium rental spaces, and managed living environments, the new system is designed to address operational inefficiencies commonly faced during guest check-ins and check-outs. By allowing guests to access their rooms through a secure web link on their mobile browsers, the solution eliminates the need for physical keycards or app downloads. This approach simplifies the arrival process, reduces wait times, and minimizes dependency on front desk operations.
Hospitality providers have been facing increasing pressure to improve speed and convenience while maintaining strong security standards. Issues such as long queues at reception, misplaced or deactivated keycards, and reliance on multiple applications have contributed to operational challenges. The newly introduced system responds to these concerns by enabling direct room access, offering a smoother and more efficient guest experience while also helping reduce staffing and operational costs.
Pushkar Gokhale, Business Head of the Security Solutions Business at Godrej Enterprises Group, stated that the hospitality sector is increasingly focused on balancing enhanced guest experiences with efficiency and security. He noted that travellers today expect quick and seamless processes, particularly during short stays, and highlighted the limitations of app-based access in such scenarios. The web-enabled solution allows guests to proceed directly to their rooms upon arrival and also supports streamlined check-out processes, depending on hotel protocols.
The company has emphasized that this development aligns with broader trends in the hospitality sector, where digital and contactless solutions are becoming central to service delivery. By focusing on user-friendly and secure access systems, Godrej aims to support hospitality providers in meeting evolving customer expectations.
