Hypertherm Associates, a leading US-based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, has introduced its patented MAXPRO200® FlushCut™ consumables, a new solution engineered to improve productivity and efficiency in heavy industrial cutting applications. The latest addition to the company’s plasma cutting portfolio is designed for demanding industries including shipbuilding, mining, structural steel fabrication, and heavy equipment manufacturing. The technology enables operators to remove metal attachments such as pad eyes, D-rings, lifting lugs, and alignment fixtures significantly faster than conventional oxyfuel cutting methods.

According to Hypertherm Associates, the MAXPRO200 FlushCut system can reduce attachment removal time by up to 90 percent while lowering grinding requirements by as much as 40 percent. The process is designed to protect the integrity of the base material during cutting, helping manufacturers reduce rework and improve operational efficiency. The consumables feature a liquid-cooled design that supports high-capacity cutting of mild steel up to 64 mm (2.5 inches) thick while delivering extended consumable life for demanding industrial environments.

Andrew Mumford, Product Manager at Hypertherm Associates, said early field testing demonstrated strong performance and productivity gains across multiple applications. “Initial customer feedback has been extremely positive,” Mr Mumford said. “Operators have shown us how this technology can improve workplace safety, reduce downtime, and complete cutting tasks in a fraction of the time previously required. In many cases, jobs that traditionally took hours can now be completed within minutes.”

The MAXPRO200 plasma cutting systems are compatible with handheld torches, mechanized carriages and tractors, X-Y cutting tables, and robotic cutting systems, offering flexibility for a broad range of fabrication and maintenance operations.

Hypertherm Associates said the FlushCut drag-cutting capability also simplifies operator training and supports companies facing skilled-labor shortages by enabling consistent and precise results with easier operation. The system has additionally been developed to improve operator comfort by reducing noise levels and limiting exposure to fumes compared with traditional cutting processes such as oxyfuel cutting and carbon arc gouging.

With the launch of MAXPRO200 FlushCut consumables, Hypertherm Associates continues to expand its FlushCut product line across both MAXPRO200 and Powermax® plasma systems, delivering cutting solutions for thin and thick metal applications in challenging industrial environments.

Founded in 1968, Hypertherm Associates manufactures industrial cutting products, CNC systems, and software used globally across sectors including shipbuilding, aerospace, rail, construction, heavy equipment, and renewable energy. The company employs approximately 2,000 people worldwide and operates as a 100 percent associate-owned business.
