Hindalco Industries Limited, the metals flagship of the Aditya Birla Group, has reported its best-ever quarterly financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company achieved record revenue, EBITDA and profit after tax, supported by robust growth in its India operations and a strong recovery at Novelis.
Consolidated revenue for the quarter rose 32 percent year-on-year to an all-time high of ₹84,825 crore, while consolidated EBITDA increased 73 percent to a record ₹14,989 crore. Profit after tax reached a historic ₹7,013 crore, up 75 percent from ₹4,004 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
All major business segments contributed to the strong performance. Hindalco’s Aluminium Upstream business reported its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA of ₹7,390 crore, an increase of 81 percent. The Copper business also posted a record EBITDA of ₹918 crore, up 36 percent. Novelis delivered its highest quarterly adjusted EBITDA of ₹4,875 crore, marking a 37 percent increase, helped by the successful restart of its Oswego plant and continued gains from cost optimisation measures. The commissioning process at the Bay Minette facility is also progressing as planned.
Managing Director Satish Pai said the company had entered FY27 with strong momentum, with every business delivering improved performance. He noted that the India business continued to achieve new milestones while Novelis regained strength following the restart of operations at Oswego. He added that Hindalco’s diversified portfolio, focus on value-added products and operational efficiency continue to support sustainable growth.
The company is also advancing several strategic expansion projects across its upstream and downstream businesses. Investments in alumina, aluminium and copper capacities are being complemented by downstream projects such as Aditya FRP, battery foil, battery enclosures and inner grooved tubes. These initiatives, along with the expansion of Novelis’ operations, are expected to strengthen Hindalco’s position in global metals and advanced materials.
During the quarter, Hindalco commissioned a 65 MW round-the-clock captive renewable energy project at Aditya Aluminium, becoming the first company in India to operate such a facility. Waste utilisation reached 80 percent, water recycling improved to 29 percent, and the company planted 80,000 saplings, taking its total plantation to more than 6.34 million trees. Hindalco was also recognised as the World’s Most Sustainable Aluminium Company in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the sixth consecutive year.
