GP Petroleums Limited (GPPL), a publicly listed manufacturer of lubricants and specialty petroleum products, has strengthened its presence in India’s infrastructure sector through its joint venture, Amron Oil Resources Private Limited, which has been selected by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) as the operating partner for its Bitumen Cell at Pipavav, Gujarat.
The first dispatch of bulk bitumen from the facility was flagged off on June 4, 2026, by John Prasad K, Country Head (Industrial Business), Marketing Head Office, IndianOil, in the presence of senior officials from IndianOil, GP Petroleums Limited and Amron Oil Resources. The facility has been commissioned under IndianOil’s SPRINT 2026 Mission Excellence initiative.
Established in 2004, Amron Oil Resources is a 50:50 joint venture between GP Petroleums Limited and West Coast Oils LLP. The company manufactures and supplies specialised bitumen products, including Bitumen Emulsions, Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) and Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB), which are widely used in road construction and infrastructure projects to improve pavement durability, performance and lifecycle.
The appointment reflects Amron’s technical capabilities, operational expertise and long-standing experience in delivering specialised bitumen solutions for India’s road development sector. The Pipavav facility is expected to enhance the availability of high-performance bitumen products across Gujarat and neighbouring states while supporting large-scale infrastructure and highway projects.
Strategically located at Pipavav Port, the facility is expected to improve supply chain efficiency, strengthen regional distribution and enable faster delivery of specialised bitumen products to customers. The location also provides logistical advantages for servicing infrastructure projects across western India.
Commenting on the development, a spokesperson for GP Petroleums Limited said, “The selection of Amron Oil Resources as the operating partner for IOCL’s Pipavav Bitumen Cell is an important milestone for our organisation. It reflects the confidence placed in our technical expertise, operational excellence and long-standing commitment to supporting India’s infrastructure development. We look forward to working closely with IndianOil to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality bitumen solutions for critical road and transportation projects.” The development further reinforces GP Petroleums’ strategy of expanding into specialised, high-growth industrial segments that complement the country’s infrastructure ambitions while creating long-term value through strategic partnerships.
