Gopalan Metals (India) Pvt Ltd, a copper manufacturing company backed by the 40-year legacy of Gopalan Group, has launched Gopalan Wires and Cables, marking its entry into the building wires segment. The new brand offers electrical wiring solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Its initial portfolio includes FR (Flame Retardant) and FRLS-H (Flame Retardant Low Smoke and Halogen) PVC house wires.

The products are manufactured at Gopalan Metals’ facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, which has a production capacity of around 6,000 km of building wires per month. The company is targeting electrical dealers, distributors, contractors, builders, infrastructure companies, original equipment manufacturers and end users across retail and institutional markets.

The launch comes as demand for electrical products continues to increase with India’s urbanisation, housing development and infrastructure expansion. Growth in residential construction, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and public infrastructure is creating greater demand for electrical wires that offer safety, reliability and consistent performance.

Gopalan Metals said the new business will combine its existing copper manufacturing capabilities with its focus on quality and safety in electrical products. The company has also secured a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) licence with the ISI Mark for its building-wires business, supporting its entry into the organised market.

“Electrical wiring is a fundamental component of every building and plays an important role in the safety and reliability of an electrical system,” said Pramod C, Director, Gopalan Metals India Pvt. Ltd. “With Gopalan Wires and Cables, our objective is to bring our experience in copper manufacturing into the building-wires segment and offer products that meet established quality and safety standards.”

The building wires are manufactured using electrolytic copper conductors, selected for their conductivity and suitability for electrical applications. The company plans to serve both retail customers and larger institutional buyers through its new product range.

The launch is part of Gopalan Metals’ broader plan to develop a diversified manufacturing business focused on electrical and copper-based products. The company intends to use its manufacturing experience to address opportunities created by India’s growing electrical, construction and industrial sectors.

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Gopalan Metals is a strategic vertical of the Gopalan Group. The company operates a manufacturing facility at Hoskote and produces copper wires and cables for electrical and electronics, automotive, telecommunications, construction and industrial applications.
