Godrej Enterprises Group’s Motor Solutions division is aiming for a revenue of INR 1000 crore by FY28, with 20% of that coming from exports. The company projects a target of ₹750 crore by FY26, driven by growing demand across sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs), HVAC systems, pumps, and actuators, both domestically and internationally.

Xercsis Marker, EVP & Head of Motor Solutions at Godrej Enterprises Group, shared, “We are enhancing our manufacturing capacity through significant investments in research and development and the adoption of advanced technologies. Our focus remains on growing sectors like EVs, automation, actuators, and pumps, alongside innovations in motor design to reduce our dependence on rare-earth materials.”

The company has strengthened its capabilities in EV motor components by launching a new assembly line aimed at expanding its presence in both the Indian and international markets, including the US and Europe. To meet the rising demand for ultra-thin laminations, particularly in EV, aerospace, and automation applications, it is also installing a high-precision lamination punching line sourced from AIDA Japan. In the domestic market, Godrej holds a dominant 60% market share in hermetic motors for refrigeration and air-conditioning.

Recent innovations from the company include the development of fully assembled motors for the off-road EV sector, catering to US customers, and plans to produce motors for a prominent German company, along with compatible controllers. The company is also investing in advanced motor technologies, such as Switched Reluctance and Synchronous Reluctance Motors, aimed at reducing reliance on rare earth magnets while enhancing efficiency.

The manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of over 6 million motors and offers more than 300 customized SKUs for diverse industrial applications. Sustainability is a key focus, with the facility holding certifications such as IGBC Platinum and GreenCo Platinum Plus, and achieving a zero-waste-to-landfill status. The plant is water-positive and recycles 80% of its packaging waste.

Pune has become a major center for manufacturing and the automotive industry in India, contributing to the growth of a robust ecosystem of ancillary industries. Located on a 36-acre, state-of-the-art campus in Shindewadi, Pune, Godrej Motor Solutions has established a green supply chain, with most suppliers located within a 100-kilometer radius, further boosting regional economic growth.

Since its founding in 1897, the Godrej Enterprises Group (which includes Godrej & Boyce and its affiliates) has played a vital role in India’s economic development. From inventing the world’s first patented springless lock and safes, to creating India’s first typewriters and refrigerators, the company has been at the forefront of innovation. It also introduced the iconic steel almirah and has been instrumental in the growth of sectors such as aerospace, energy, and security.

Today, the Godrej Enterprises Group operates across five continents, holding a market-leading position in both consumer-focused and nation-building industries. Its diverse portfolio includes aerospace, aviation, defense, motor solutions, energy solutions, locks and security, advanced engineering, real estate, intralogistics, consumer durables, furniture, vending, and information technology.
