GE Aerospace employees across Bengaluru and Pune came together to celebrate Global Volunteer Week through a wide range of community-focused initiatives, reinforcing the company’s commitment to social responsibility and local engagement. Throughout the week, volunteers actively participated in environmental restoration, education outreach, and community development programs.
In Bengaluru, employees contributed to lake clean-up drives, reforestation activities, and interactive sessions with students, demonstrating a strong culture of purpose and ownership that extends beyond the workplace. These efforts reflect the same dedication and innovation employees bring to advancing aerospace technologies.
Shilpa Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, India, GE Aerospace, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating that Global Volunteer Week represents the organization’s deep-rooted commitment to the communities in which it operates. She noted that employees in Bengaluru have embraced community initiatives with enthusiasm and accountability, contributing meaningfully to environmental sustainability and youth engagement. She further emphasized that these activities build on an already strong foundation of volunteerism, with nearly 1,000 employees contributing more than 4,000 hours of service in 2025 alone.
In Pune, similar enthusiasm was evident as employees engaged in initiatives focused on environmental conservation, student support, and broader community outreach. Activities ranged from hands-on restoration projects to educational programs designed to inspire and support the next generation.
Vishwajit Singh, Managing Director of GE Aerospace’s Pune facility, underscored the broader impact of these efforts. He noted that Global Volunteer Week serves as a reminder that the company’s influence extends well beyond its business operations. Employees in Pune have demonstrated a shared commitment to giving back by actively supporting the environment, engaging with students, and strengthening community ties.
Mr Singh also acknowledged the collective contribution of volunteers, recognizing the dedication of approximately 1,000 employees who have already contributed over 4,000 hours of service this year. He added that the activities carried out during Global Volunteer Week have further strengthened this momentum, showcasing the passion and commitment of GE Aerospace teams.
By aligning employee engagement with meaningful community initiatives, GE Aerospace continues to foster a culture that values social impact, sustainability, and collective responsibility. The success of this year’s Global Volunteer Week highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to create positive change and build stronger, more resilient communities in the regions it serves.
